Today I'm posting this to see if people would be interested in a product I've been making for the New Nintendo 3DS XL.

The project is getting pretty close to being finished after working on all the hard parts. The idea is a simple drop-in USB-C rechargeable battery mod, kind of like the rechargeable batteries you can get for the Game Boy Advance.

Instead of changing the 3DS itself, the product would be a battery with a small charging and power board attached to it. I'm trying to make it as close to the original battery as possible so it can fit inside the normal battery compartment.

The USB-C port will be on the back of the battery, facing toward the back of the 3DS. This means you would need to use a modified backplate or make a hole in your current one. The plan is to include a backplate with a hole already made for the USB-C port.

I'm also hoping to make the battery around 300 mAh bigger than the original battery, but the final capacity will depend on testing and what battery I can safely fit.
