USC or CSUN for business

Hi everybody I know school starts in a couple days but I just got the financials run by my parents. I am currently in the midst of appealing for more aid from USC because both my parents lost their jobs in 2024.

Right now before the appeal, USC is gonna cost me 27ish thousand per semester after grants. CSUN will cost me 3.5k a semester. USC was my dream school but I don’t know if it is financially worth it.

I accepted admission to CSUN a while back and never told them I wouldn’t be going.

I AM A TRANSFER STUDENT SO I CURRENTLY HAVE JUNIOR STANDING.

Is USC worth it?

I would be paying with private loans

What if I only showed one paystub for appeal?

My dad has two jobs, one of which he started in 2026. I recently submitted an appeal and they asked for recent paystubs as well as other stuff for 2025. What would theoretically happen if I only submitted paystubs for the lower paying job seeing as the FAFSA is based on 2024 and I’m only submitting 2025 because of the appeal?

My brother asked me about it and it’s been driving me insane.

Thank you guys!

How to tell financial aid I am commuting?

Hi! I am a fall transfer from Community College. I received my package and the calculated cost includes housing and dining. I plan on commuting. How do I update USC on this?

Is it worth it as a transfer?

I know this question gets asked all the time but I need help please. is it worth it as a transfer to go to USC if this is my COA? I’d be entering as a junior standing transfer from CC for Marshall. My only other option is CSUN where my estimated COA would be 24k per year and I’d get 7.5k in unsubsidized loans.

I just wanted the opinion of actual people. Thank you. I appreciate whatever help.
