Vent ratios at a Skilled Nursing Facility.

Is 11 vents to 1 RT considered a lot at a Skilled Nursing Facility? I was offered a choice of Full-time or PRN position and they gave me a run down of the facility and expectations.

My only thing is, 11 vents sounds crazy dangerous to 1 RT in the Hospital setting. But I also have to take into a count that there are no pages, the patients are relatively stable, and I’m covering a singular floor. But I would be the only RT in the entire facility.

I am trying to get my feet wet outside of the hospital setting so I’ve been applying around to see what different settings are out there.

Also, with their PRN position, it sounds like a pseudo-part-time thing. The requirements of 2 shifts per week and 1 weekend and 1 summer and 1 winter holiday. Is that normal for PRN gigs? I thought PRN you pick up whenever you want at least one shift a month or something.

What are your Hospital policies for Transporting?

Does your facility allow RTs to manually bag patients during transport between units, or are you required to use a transport ventilator for every intubated patient?

I’m new at my hospital, and while I’m comfortable manually bagging a patient during a short transport to the OR or cath lab, I’ve noticed that many of the ICU nurses strongly prefer using a transport ventilator. Some have been wanting to ask the hospital to create a policy requiring all intubated patients to be transported on a transport vent.

Don’t get me wrong I will absolutely use a transport vent for patients who are unstable or when I think it’s clinically indicated. But for a stable patient going on a short trip to the OR or cath lab, where they’ll be connected to another vent almost immediately, I prefer to manually bag during the transport.

I’m genuinely curious how other hospitals handle this. Is manually bagging during transport ok where you work, or is a transport vent required for all intubated patients? I’m also interested in hearing the reasoning behind your facility’s policy.

“Bring your tamagotchi to Work day”

I put my Tamagotchi P’s and paradise away to cycle through my Tamas this month. Now, I’m just running my tamagotchi connections while at work. I forgot how needy the connections were! But they’re so fun.

Tama mail haul this month!

July has been a big month for me and the most unforgettable! My birthday was last week and my friends and family put together and got me a bunch of different tamas that I have been wishing for! I finally got the Tamagotchi Meets into my collection! Now I need to find a bigger box for all these new tamas!

Are the Tamagotchi V4.5 and V5 worth it?

Just wondering if it’s worth buying them. I see the prices of some and I find them honestly too pricey but I miss my V4.5 and V5. If I could go back in time I would tell my younger self to not let your friends borrow your tamagotchis because they would end up stealing them and breaking them. 😭

I hope and wish Bandai does a rerelease for the V4.5 and V5.

Avovotchi & Yukiraratchi!

My first two adults on the new Paradise. I think my new favorite tama is probably Avovotchi! I just love its little animations.

My current Tama run.

This is actually the most tamas I’ve ran in a long time. I carry them in this one bag and take them everywhere even to work. 😅

Yukinkotchi❤️

I just love her! I’ve always tried to get her years ago but I didn’t understand how Care Mistakes worked exactly. But having her on my tama P’s is the best feeling.

Thoughts on PUNIRUNES?

I keep seeing these at Walmart and Target. Are they fun? Are they like Tamagotchis? They’re on sale and I kind of want to buy it to try it but I’m nervous I wouldn’t like it as much as my current tamas. 😅

Difference between On/Meets

Can anyone explain to me the difference between the On and Meets? I see the meets has a few different shells and looks like characters too. But is the gameplay the same?

Tamagotchi Battery contacts

Does anyone know how to remove the battery contacts in tamagotchi P’s. I am trying to create a 3D scan to recreate the P’s shell but I believe I have to remove the battery contacts before the 3D scanning.

Dayshift vs Nightshift mentality

This is my first hospital where I’ve seen such a strong day shift vs. night shift mentality. I’ve worked both shifts before, and while the workflow may be different, both shifts can be equally busy and stressful.

What I don’t understand is why there seems to be so much tension between the two. I constantly hear complaints about things like a half-empty water bag, or someone left equipment on the unit or how someone didn’t give the “perfect” report, and etc. I also hear people complain about who they’re receiving report from or giving report to, whether it’s day shift talking about night shift or vice versa.

I do understand leaving a piece of dirty equipment on the unit can be annoying to a lot of RTs and it shouldn’t happen often. But sometimes both shifts happen to leave at least one piece of dirty equipment but no one in my dept acknowledges that. I know it’s not on purpose. But the other stuff I mentioned I feel most of these things seem pretty minor and easy to fix. Is this kind of day shift vs. night shift conflict common in healthcare? What do you think causes it, and how do you deal with it

Tama Find!

Found this Tamagotchi P’s on FB market place for $32!! It definitely needs some TLC. But it works, nonetheless! I love the P’s for its gameplay, Additional content, and it was my first actual colored tamagotchi!

I just put a Silicone case on it to prevent anymore scratches on the Shell. I might try to 3D print a new shell and Heart Pierce. It would be my first project and it’s a shame no one makes custom Shells for the P’s. As for the screen, hopefully polywatch will help with the scratches on it.
