read 2010ish, book is about a witch with a talking dog, she works in a bookstore, meets a guy, some reason follows him home, his house has protection charms that make it look like a run down house to average people but it's not, turns out he's a warlock trying to become a vampire (or is an did it through magic) he has a son who is a dhampir and has to kill him, he also has a dead ex who he is trying to bring back with necromancy ( she has a goddess name)

i read this in the early 2000' it started in the womans apartment/house, mentions she has dark skin, she has to go home to louisiana cuz there was a death in the family, the mansion is located on an island off of new orleans, it's hinted that it may be haunted, the mystery is part of the plot the rice festival rice princesses have been going missing for decades, they found a body in the river, her cousin is a cop he's called to the scene, they start a romance (not incestuous since she's adopted) , she (and i think her mother) were the ones that 'got away' and the killer is still after her, they find out that it's her uncle or someone close to her, she finds all the girls still in thier rice festival outfits after decade of being preserved and put on display

looking for a book about two sisters one gets attacked so she's are sent to a convent, she has to shave her head, her boyfriend comes visit her everyday but she gets attacked at the convent they find out its her sister that's after her and she was adopted cuz the sister killed her real sibling, so the parents adopted her, it's a modern setting (or at least the 20th century), american setting, in the convent she has a plain room, can only read the bible, i read it in the early 2000s so it may have been written before then, may have a blue cover possibly with a kind of old possibly chipped cherub statue, big white letters, title might have something about sisters, i could be misremembering the cover though, hardback book

so i read this poem in early 2000s so it could be older, most like from the 90 maybe the 80s, gritty urban, about red riding hood, not exactly a retelling, it says how her mom was disappointed in her, i believe she leaves home early, drug addict, tattoos maybe a prostitute, her siblings go on to be successful, even though she's the black sheep she ends up being the only one who vists her mother on her dead bed not her siblings, told in first person, 3-4 pages long

I'm writing an erotic thriller romance, I named the 3 main characters with the same letter, Delphine, the main girl, the ex, Dorian, the new romantic interest, Dimitri. Is it too cliche or cutesy? Would it be confusing even with the different first syllables? Should I change some names?
