I’m from Waterloo, Iowa and am currently deciding if I want to move my family to another part of iowa or another state. Our family is myself, my husband, and our daughter. Our daughter would be starting pre K. Some of our wants would include: Safe neighborhood, good school district, good opportunities for nurses, things to do, amenities/grocery shopping/work/school within 20-30 min driving distance, and good opportunities for nurses. I would LOVE to get away from the freezing and below 0 temperatures as well. What are some of your personal experiences in Iowa or other recommended states? Thanks!

Im looking into relocating from Iowa. Hoping to get some information on a good spot in a state that would fulfill most of our wants. Our household is me, my husband, our daughter, and 5 animals.

Some reasons we want to leave Iowa

•Weather. (freezing in winter and scolding in summer) we’re looking for a better balance.

• we live in Waterloo. School systems are not very good and crime is higher.

• there isn’t much to do here

Some things we’re looking for:

• safe neighborhood
• good schools for my daughter (she’ll be starting pre-k)
• good job opportunities for nurses
•overall lower cost of living and housing costs
• mild year round weather
• least amount of snow and cold weather possible
• low traffic congestion
• grocery shopping, work, school, and amenities within 20-30 min driving time.
