This feels like a breaktrough.

I have re-powered my old esp32-s3 voice assistant with new A.I. models and it works like a charm. Good wakeword detection, very goot STT, intent always on point and no errors, fast response times, beautyful TTS voice via Kokoro, crystal clear voice output on my Sonos speaker, no hacking in home assistant at all; I just created a pipeline using default settings. I can ask to fiddle with my devices and to tell me something about the world in a single request. I am in love with this stuff again.

Models in use:

• faster-distil-whisper-large-v3 fot STT
• speaches-ai/Kokoro-82M-v1.0-ONNX with voice af_heart for TTS
• gemma4-12b via ollama

Hardware:

• diymore esp32-s3 devkit 1
• powerful server (aktually my mostly idle desktop gaming PC) 16GB GPU (RX9700) and Hex-Core CPU, Ubuntu
• old Sonos Play:5
