This one's a long shot from my best works. Felt like there really wasn't much I could add to this one, nor did I know how to draw like half the things in it, and I really tried to salvage this and make it actually look good. But you know what? It's original, it's good enough. It meets my quality standard. I might remake this some day when I actually know how to draw grass tho 😅
Chapter 5 came around and my prayers were answered. Kralsei is not onesided anymore, and I've made some art to celebrate that. I'm posting these both now rather than when I drew them (aka 2 and 1 day ago respectively) cuz I got a 3 day ban for the stupidest reason imaginable (that's why I posted these to my tumblr before doing so here). During that time, I saw other people's art about the hot spring scene. And I really wanted to draw it or something adjacent, but I didn't wanna draw the same thing everyone else has already drawn, as that's cheap and I decided to be a bit more original and put a bit more elbow grease (not to jab at anyone who did tho, everyone's art is still great, and there's nothing lowlier than bashing at a fellow artist for something as ridiculous as this, this is just to say that I can guarantee my kralsei art will always be high quality and high effort.) So it took me a while to actually land on good ideas, but I eventually did.
Artist's note 1: giving ralsei lil eyelashes was probably the best decision of my life lmao I LOVE how he looks with them
Artist's note 2: I originally wanted the second drawing to be a callback to my first artwork in this sub, but decided it wouldn't look as good if I drew them facing away from the camera again, so I decided to change things up a little and needless to say I'm glad I did. I'm very proud of both of these.
It's not much, but it's honest work.
That silhouette looks scarily similar to the Gravity Circuit's. I already had worries of them digging up Nega's corpse and making his sacrifice in vain/ reverting it, and knowing he was the original Gravity Circuit, this doesn't help ease my worries.
I'll have faith tho, maybe his spirit or something comes back to help rather, but I'm certain this ain't the last we've seen of him. I just hope they can handle it right.
Drawing ideas have been real abundant lately
Hey yall. This is probably my last comic mixing in slay the spire into all of this. Not because of anything, but it's getting real old. This took me double the amount of time I said I would. Turns out not knowing how to draw Susie WAS a real bad issue after all. Most unexpectedly tho: not knowing how to draw certain panels made for a bigger challenge than I was expecting. Some panels even took days to actually make because of that exact issue. I'm genuinely sorry if some panels look bad, especially Susie who looks shell shocked because I cannot draw her head for shit, and the fact that I was planning to have it go for longer, to the point of a fight of the fun gang vs the Ironclad but I simply couldn't anymore. So as an apology, I left a bonus drawing at the end. A redraw of the Believe In You card art from Slay The Spire 2. It's pretty small, but I thought it would be kinda cute. Even if I'm never doing one of these again because it genuinely took a toll on me, feeling like I wasn't progressing, like I was stuck, and that it felt like it was ripping away my motivation to draw, I still want some feedback: How did I do with the writing? Was it any good? Did I get the personalities right? (This doesn't apply to the Champ (aka the big knight guy) cuz I genuinely had almost nothing to work on with him, especially his Slay The Spire 2 self. I'm also gonna leave this as an exclusive for this sub and not gonna post it in any of the other places where I usually post my art because I want such bizzare crossover to stay as a sort of tourist attraction for this sub (I don't know if I'm getting across what I mean you know, something unique to this sub, found nowhere else) this doesn't mean I don't wish it reposted anywhere else tho. Just for it to be done under the caption "only in r/ToothpasteBoys " or something among those lines.
Anyway, whatever the case, I hope you enjoy it. =]
