UA556 rockstar captain
Flying out of Newark today.
Just as it was about to get really messy, and after getting the “hold up” messages from ATC, the captain comes on and tells us…”don’t worry, I’m going to figure this out. We are going to get you to Houston”
This was the pilot version of “I’ve got a guy”.
Sure enough, he locks in this ridiculous routing and heads to the runway minutes before they called a stop.
“If you look out the window and see the ocean, don’t worry, I’m not lost”
First time EWR>IAH was mostly over water.
