Split ac size for humid climate? Oversize?

Split ac size for humid climate? Oversize?

I need a new split unit for a bedroom in a house on the florida coast. The weather here is windy, hot and very humid.

The room's insulation is pretty good but the door is opened frequently letting humid air in.

The BTU calculator shows I need a 9000btu unit but I'm worried that might not be enough with this type of weather.

If I put a 12000btu will I run the risk of oversizing?

We would like a cold room almost 24hrs a day.

127v 50hz to 120v 60hz?

I have some American kitchen appliances that I want to use in a country with 127v 50hz outlets.

A electrician told me I could use a stepdown converter to 100v 50z to compensate for the difference.

Does that make sense?
