This is a great book for anyone interested in the field of herpetology and research. It’s written by noted embryologist and salamander expert Stanford professor Victor Twitty on California salamanders and newts. He describes his career and field research he performed in Sonoma County with his Stanford students on Pepperwood Creek on the 13,000 acre ranch Hedgpeth Ranch, whose owner lent him one of the homes on the property as a scientific base camp. Gold Lake
Just got back from a week at the lake. The campground spots all have water/beach access It rained one night leading to a spectacular Sierra Sunset Plumas National Forest Lakes Basin Recreation Area Reserved sites 26/29 have the best beach. Half of the other sites are first come first served. I reserve one or two nights and move to FFS once there. Had very good luck for the past 5 years

Highly recommend these. They are pricey $205/pair but the build quality and fit is worth it. Ram Promaster, the Canoe Transporter. Also added the Mopar wind deflectors, which I also recommend as they attach to the door frame top with two clips and strong adhesive, for extra peace of mind than just adhesive alone types...

Dry Ice for Cooling or Freezing in Cooler
This schematic is on the dry ice box at local Safeway. I am particularly interested in the cooling scheme. Has anyone tried this? Is there a danger of freezing food instead of just cooling it?

Fredo's Aluminum Boat: Geographical Goof or AI Nonsense
The small aluminum boat that Fredo goes fishing on Lake Tahoe has the California registration CF 4654 AK registration required of all motor boats. Search Google for CF 4654 AK and AI calls it a geographic goof, which is total nonsense because the last two letters can be any two letters and it certainly doesn't signify Alaska. AI DO BETTER!
