Still assembling

I bought a 3 pot distillation kit from Amazon. It doesn't have the Vevor Label

but looks identical.

In building it, while reading the documentation and looking at YouTube videos I got the message that the flexible washers should be placed on the outside of the lid of the main boiling pot. This seems to be different than the other pots, where the flexible washers are all inside each pot.

This may be because the main boiling pot gets hotter than the others, but putting the flexible washers on the outside traps it under a much smaller brass nut surface area, which causes it to distort into apparent uselessness.

So I need to get some more generously sized stainless steel or brass washers to bear down on the silicone ring more kindly, or just put the flexible washers on the inside of the lid under the flat area of the much larger nut.

Any advice on this?

Best method for California Poppy?

I've picked and dried my crop of California poppy and whizzed it up as coarse tea material. I could try an oil or alcohol extraction but think it might be easier to make a strong tea solution of it all and store as ice cubes for regular use.

Is this considered to be a viable method?

Frankinsence processing?

In studying frankinsence, I've been lead to the conclusion that the Boswellic acid is what I would find most helpful as a medicine.

I'm interested in buying the best form for this purpose but right now I have a package of frankinsence powder, said to be suitable for culinary and medicinal use.

One recent article I read described this as being made up of both water soluble and oil/alcohol soluble components and that the water soluble matter should be separated by boiling, so as to leave the Boswellic Acid fraction available in it's most bio-available form.

Would simply taking the originally purchased powder in oil as previously recommended here, have it's effectiveness diminished by keeping the remaining water soluble fraction, or would the water contained in the digestive process allow the component to naturally separate and each group go about their own journey throughout the bodily system?

Xmind 8 pro weblink in note?

So as to minimise a potentially large mindmap I'm trying to form a list of weblinks in the note of a sub-topic. This, rather than having multiple branches coming from the sub-topic base.

This seems to be achievable by clicking on 'Add Hyperlink' in the toolbar of the specific note. But having made this hyperlink I'm finding that the link is not responding to clicks, nor does there seem to be a sub-menu item to achieve this end.

Please can anyone explain how to make this work?

Ground Seeds and seed oil differences?

I've seen a lot of information recently stating that seed oil is generally unhealthy, being a cause of chronic inflammation.

Every morning I eat oats with an variety of added ground seeds, such as Flax, Chia Pumpkin and Hemp.

If it's true that seed oil is a health hazard, does this not indicate that the ground seeds would be similarly harmful?

Alcohol for Tincture

I'm trying to frugally produce some tinctures. There is a large price difference between 37.5% and 40% vodka locally. From what I've read, anything less than 40% has incomplete results.

One type of 40% alcohol that is available here is gin. I know that gin has more of a flavour than vodka but it's a difference I think I could cope with.

Any thoughts on this?

Retrieving alcohol from tinctures for reuse?

I have begun making herbal tinctures and I'm seeking a simple efficient method for retrieving some alcohol for reuse. I see that there are rotary evaporators for sale on both Amazon and eBay though I would prefer a more economical method if possible.

My Internet speed is way down today

I have two sims with data. They usually do ok. This last weekend and today have been unusually slow.

Is it the summer temp, millions of kids holidaying online, or the Russians?
