A cigarette, a walk, and a lot of thoughts

12/08/2026

One cigarette, and everything went quiet for a while. As I was walking down the street with boiling emotions, I inhaled deeply while closing my eyes, felt the cold atmosphere inside my lungs, and the memories of my childhood appeared in the darkness—what I wanted to be, what I am now. As I exhaled, everything felt as if it came back to normal, but little did I know, the rage in my heart had already taken control of my emotions, so I took another cigarette. Nothing felt better than this one. At last, I calmed down, not by the cigarette, but by the words of Haterade coming out of my mouth.

The same night, I felt like taking another cigarette. Nothing was worse than this last one. At the end of the day, it was just me and my thoughts, making me realize that I can only be there for myself—no cigarette, no lover. At the end of the day, it's just you and your actions.

This wasn't about cigarettes....

The Hormone

I came up with a Stand called THE HORMONE

I was randomly thinking about what kind of Stand I'd create, and I wanted something that wasn't just "this Stand is insanely powerful because yes."

So I came up with The Hormone.

Its ability is basically hormonal manipulation, but there's a huge catch: the user can't activate the ability whenever they want.

The Ability

The Hormone can manipulate the hormone levels of an opponent and temporarily interfere with their hormonal system.

However, the Stand can only gain this ability after the opponent meets several conditions.

Activation conditions

The opponent must:

- Lose a significant amount of blood.

- Become mentally exhausted.

- Be brought into this condition through the user's own actions.

The third condition is important. The user can't simply wait for an already-injured or exhausted opponent and activate the ability. They have to personally push the opponent to the required state.

This means the Stand's ability isn't something you can immediately use at the beginning of a fight.

The Physical Strength

Here's where the Stand becomes dangerous.

The Hormone has physical strength roughly comparable to Star Platinum.

However, there's a catch.

The more the user relies on the Stand's physical strength to bring the opponent to the required conditions, the more exhausted the user becomes as well.

So the fight becomes a race.

The user has to weaken the opponent enough to unlock the real ability, while simultaneously trying not to exhaust themselves first.

The Price

And this is the biggest drawback.

Every successful activation of The Hormone costs the user part of their lifespan.

So even if the user successfully wins the fight, they aren't walking away completely victorious.

They literally traded away some of their future to win.

The stronger the hormonal manipulation required, the greater the potential cost could be.

This means the user has to constantly make a decision:

"Is winning this fight worth losing part of my life?"

Why I like the concept

I wanted The Hormone to be a Stand where raw strength isn't enough.

The user could theoretically punch their way through the opponent with Star Platinum-level strength, but doing that consumes their stamina.

The user also can't simply activate their ability immediately.

They have to fulfill the conditions first.

And even after succeeding, they pay for it with their lifespan.

So every fight becomes a gamble.

The opponent is trying to stop the user from fulfilling the conditions.

The user is trying to survive long enough to fulfill them.

And once the conditions are finally met...

The real ability begins.

That's basically the idea behind The Hormone.

I'd probably give the Stand a relatively high physical-stat rating but a very low rating for ease of use, because its biggest strength is also its biggest weakness: you have to earn the ability before you can use it.
