Need help with fin rot 😔

Hello, I’m new to having a tank, we started out with our 5 gal tank, just fake plants, our beta Glubber, and a snail. The snail thrived till I tried switching over to live plants and not only did our snail die but our betas fin rot got significantly worse. Since then we re-did the whole tank, started doing tests, got better substrate, bio filters, cleaning enzymes, half live plants half fake (for now) and a new mystery snail. I have a pothos and some duckweed in the tank rn.

He’s a very active and curious fish (loves watching the hockey game), but his fins are just not healing. I’m assuming it’s because our water is so hard? But not sure what’s the safest way to fix that. Would love any advice please and thank you!

Parents let their children free roam through our funeral home all the time?

This is half a question and half a rant. I’ve worked customer service for years now and just recently started working in a funeral home. There’s always going to be careless parents but happens SO MUCH at our funeral home durning reception/luncheon. People just let their kids wonder? We’ll have children running up and down the halls, wondering into random rooms, playing the piano etc, screaming the entire time. There’s times I can hear people’s children on the other side of our building.
It’s something I’m always hesitant to bring up to the parents, especially if they’re a part of the immediate family also feels like something that would be common sense? But we usually have other families in the building and I feel bad for those people. Does anyone have tips on how to address this issue? Also is this like a common problem at funeral homes?
