Would You Give Up a Founders Rate You Can Never Get Back?
I’m over 100 classes in and I’m seriously considering canceling my membership. I have an unlimited founders membership for $200/month, which is a great rate, but I’m struggling with whether it’s still the best use of my time and money.
I was taking all the 1.0/1.5 classes 4-5 a week but I have decided the only class I truly love is Center + Balance. Only ONE instructor in particular is amazing and consistently gets me into deep stretches on the reformer that I can’t achieve on my own- she teaches only ONE class ONCE a week. Those classes leave me feeling better physically and mentally, and I suspect the stretching and nervous system regulation are beneficial for my stress levels.
My concern is that despite taking the 1.0/1.5 Pilates 4–5 days a week, my body composition hasn’t changed the way I hoped, no lengthening or leaning (I have lost 10 lbs with diet but visceral fat remains the same). I still struggle with belly fat, stress, and what feels like high cortisol. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if my priorities should be 10k steps, zone 2 cardio, and weight training vs my 5 day Pilates.
So do I?
A. Keep my founders rate ($200/month) so I don’t lose the rate, even though I will mainly attend one class I really love in case I do more later.
B. Cancel the membership and just pay for that class individually (~$25/class, about $100/month).
C. Cancel completely, do my own stretching at home, and put the extra money toward walking, zone 2 cardio, strength training, and nutrition.
I’d love to hear your experience.
47F Dry/Sensitive Skin- Current Anti-Aging + Redness Routine Focused on Collagen, Elasticity & Barrier Support
I’m 47 with dry, sensitive, redness-prone skin and my main concerns are:
- loss of elasticity/firmness
- fine lines/crow’s feet
- dehydration/crepey texture
- redness/inflammation
- maintaining barrier health while still targeting aging
I’m trying to build more of a “collagen support + barrier preservation” routine instead of constantly over-exfoliating my skin. I also do procedures (Botox/IPL/Vbeam/microneedling/etc.) so I’m trying to avoid chronic irritation.
These are my current actives and what I’m using them for:
• Tretinoin 0.025%
Main anti-aging/collagen product for wrinkles, texture, elasticity.
• Shani Darden Retinol Reform
Using more as a “glow/texture” retinoid on non-tret nights because my dry sensitive skin tolerates it better than increasing tret frequency.
• SkinMedica TNS Advanced+
Growth factors for firmness, elasticity, skin density, mature skin support.
• Skinbetter Alto Advanced
Antioxidant support for redness, inflammation, environmental damage, collagen preservation.
• Azelaic Acid 15%
For redness, inflammation, pigmentation, texture, and overall calming.
• Medik8 Liquid Peptides
Supportive peptide/copper peptide serum for hydration + fine lines + barrier-friendly anti-aging.
• EADEM Cashmere Peel
Gentle exfoliation 1–2x weekly for glow/texture without harsh acids.
• Omnilux LED
Redness + collagen support + healing/recovery.
For hydration/barrier support I mainly use:
- Dieux Instant Angel
- Experiment Super Saturated
- TIRTIR Milk Skin Toner
I’ve realized my skin does MUCH better with:
- recovery nights
- less exfoliation
- separated actives
- hydration-focused anti-aging
rather than stacking aggressive acids constantly.
Does this seem like a balanced active lineup for dry sensitive mature skin? Any obvious overlap or categories I’m missing? I’m specifically trying to improve elasticity and aging without pushing my barrier into chronic irritation. I realize I was doing wayyyyy too much and breaking my skin barrier while increasing inflammation.
We’re a mid-40s couple looking for:
- relaxing vibe
- beautiful beach/ocean views (seaweed will be more so for Cancun, I know)
- not a “huge” party crowd
- excursions like deep sea fishing
- a bit of shopping
Considering:
- Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya
- Casa Velas
Also not fighting for a pool chair is great, we plan to upgrade our rooms as well. Thanks in advance.
