Colombian handicrafts

This is the piece I will post on July 20th to commemorate Colombia's independence, inspired by a region called Ráquira. It will have text similar to this:

"Colombia has the strange habit of exhausting and surprising us on the same day. Perhaps that's why we're still here, because even after the chaos, there's always a story worth telling."

Cafetera Art Nouveau

A century later, we're still decorating the edges of the world and spending hours on details that almost no one will notice. Fortunately, there’s more than one person here who knows where to look.

Glow in the dark beach

There are cities that don't sleep, like this one that learned to shine; here, the night is cultivated like a rare fruit, ripening slowly, changing color, and ending up illuminating everything it touches

From Pixel Art to Screw Art

I started with the pixel art version and then wondered what it would look like in the physical world.

This piece is made from 675 wood screws, individually painted and sealed by hand. The final image is based on my original pixel art of a classic Coca-Cola can, using the screws as physical "pixels" to recreate the design through texture, depth, light, and shadow.

I've been exploring different ways to bring pixel art beyond the screen while keeping its grid-based nature intact.

[Self] Exploring Image-Making Through Screw Art

I'm a pixel artist exploring new ways to take digital art into the physical world. This screw art piece is part of that experiment using screws as "pixels" to build an image through texture, light, and shadow. Curious to hear what sculptors think!

Some 16x16 pixel landscape studies.

My goal was to capture different environments and biomes while maintaining strong composition and visual readability at a very small scale.

This is how I'm doing the parallax

I'm adding some blue layers with low opacity to separate the background from the bus.

BootieFairy

Last night I was visited by BootieFairy, the fairy in charge of taking a sock from children who export their pixel art in .JPG format; when she left through my window she left a trail of foot powder and a faint smell of cheese. Have you ever been visited by the Bootie Fairy?

Made this for the Pixel Joint “After Earth” challenge.I really wanted to participate, but didn’t have much time, so I kept it small and focused.
Canvas is 80×142 (vertical), using 14 colors from the PICO-8 palette, just my personal favorites from it.Tried to keep things readable at 1x while still pushing some atmosphere and weird alien vibes. Not the most ambitious piece, but I’m glad I got it done.

This piece is for the Pixel Joint challenge. I made it tiny because I really wanted to participate, but I didn't have enough time. I worked with my 14 favorite colors from the PICO-8 palette and simply worked with those.
