Hypothetically: How would you fix Miguel in Across the Spider-verse

Since we all like to rag on atsv miguel, here's a question.

Let's say, you were able to go back in time and you somehow became one of the writers for the spider-verse movies. What would be the things you'd suggest you fix Miguel's portrayal in the movie?

Miguel was about to be a bigger Asshole in Across the Spider-verse

I found this article about the development of Miguel while scrolling on twitter, and the fact that the version of Miguel that chases a 15 year old child down and calls him a mistake was the TAME version of him they came up with scares me for how much worst it could've been.

Is Miguel Being Referenced in Brand New Day (spoilers obviously)

So I went to go see brand new day today and it was amazing! I loved it! Howeverrrrr, there was a detail to the movie that reminded me of our beloved 2099 spider

When Ken is discussing his theories on who spider-man is, one of his theories was that spider-man was a "latino parkour master" (iirc)

and when i saw the credits they gave a special thanks to peter david, spider-man 2099's og comic book writer (who passed unfortunately)

so is it possible that this reference was intentional? or am I just being extremely autistic?

fun fact: canon events arent just the bad things that happen to you

its very interesting how everyone kinda skipped over the part that there *are* such thing as a good canon event when it comes to miguel, but will act like canon events are just the worst possible things happening to you just bc plot.

not to say that Miguel's logic is 100% sound bc the movie clearly points that he could be wrong, but it gets annoying how he just gets painted as a hater, and the canon events being treated like the worst things ever just because a lot of people have a bias AGAINST miguel.

The Continuation of the Miguel-Verse is Near Folks 😶

It's being rumored that we will get our first look at Beyond the Spider-Verse during the San Diego Comic Con this Friday, and this will most likely include a look at how Miguel O'hara is gonna be portrayed in this new installment.

So how are we feeling? Hopeful? A sense of Dread? Please tell me!

(in my personal opinion, I feel like they are ultimately taking the long way around, having him make the 'wrong decision' and him seeing the ramifications of that before ultimately helping miles and the gang but maybe im just too hopeful sigh)
