1.6 TDI CAYC thrust bearing failure after clutch issues? Strange clutch behavior and crankshaft movement

Hi everyone,
I have a Skoda Octavia 2 Facelift 1.6 TDI CAYC and I think my thrust bearings (crankshaft axial bearings) are gone after months of clutch-related issues.
Here’s the full story:
About 6 months ago I replaced the clutch slave cylinder on the gearbox because of clutch problems. Later I started getting:
vibrations in the clutch pedal,
noise from the release bearing,
strange feeling when pressing the clutch at higher RPM,
vibration exactly at the biting point when taking off slowly.
Recently things got much worse:
the clutch pedal behavior became inconsistent,
after taking a hard corner the pedal came back only halfway once,
engine sound changes when pressing the clutch,
sometimes I can feel mechanical resistance/vibration through the pedal.
Important details:
no oil pressure warning light,
engine still runs normally,
gearbox still shifts,
engine does not stall,
flywheel is single mass conversion with Sachs clutch kit,
engine mounts are new,
clutch fork and pivot were replaced.
Now I suspect the crankshaft thrust bearings failed and the crankshaft has excessive axial play.
Has anyone experienced this on a 1.6 TDI CAYC?
Can the pressure plate or release system destroy the thrust bearings over time?
Is it common on these engines?
Also, if I only drive about 10 km carefully to the garage, am I risking complete engine failure?
Any advice or similar experiences would help a lot.
