I've been an ARMY for 9 years and they work so hard to treat everyone with respect. Everyone they've worked with in professional spaces say they're amazing people. You've probably spent thousands of dollars to see them in concert and you're complaining they didn't look at you??? Actually shut up.

Bookstores that carry Korean books?

Hey guys. I want to buy books in Korean and I really don't know where to go looking. Is there a place in the wider Seattle area (I live about 40 minutes north of Seattle but am willing to travel) where I am able to buy a wide range of books in Korean? I know there's a large Korean community in Lynwood. Are there any good spots there? I miss Kyobo, I'd just walk about the store when I spent last summer in Korea. If there was any store that had even 1% of what Kyobo sold, I would be happy. Thanks!

I'm Kind of Sad About ATEEZ's Last Comeback? (As a Debuttiny)

Okay so like it says in the title, I have been an ATEEZ fan since /debut/. Like I'm talking October 2018, I remember when Atiny became the fandom name, I was there when it was announced. And I still love ATEEZ. I think I will forever love ATEEZ. This isn't a snark post and I'm not here to hate on them, but like...their comebacks have become so generic.

I like BAD, I think it's a catchy song, the music video is fun, oh my gOD Yeosang I swear has never looked better (obvs he's my bias loll), but don't tell me that's a song that just ATEEZ can do.

I casually listen to a lot of Kpop, and have respect for a lot of groups! I studied in Korea, researching the Hallyu wave and who contributed to it. But I have only ever found myself stanning three groups--BTS, ATEEZ, and XG (which I know isn't Kpop but stick with me). Notice the pattern there? I really love them because they brought something new to the table, each of them. ATEEZ's character concepts were something I loved /so/ much. I loved the pirates, I loved the cowboys, I loved the messeging of their songs, it felt like there was so much heart in them, I thought they were going to skyrocket, and in a lot of ways they have!

But now that they've reached a level of fame and for right now are pretty solid in their standing in Kpop, their comebacks have gotten so generic. IoMT is one of my least favorite songs of theirs. I saw it and was like, "...Okay? You've had so much to say in other concepts, so much story to tell, and now this?" I didn't even pay super close attention to the storyline like other Atinys, but I saw the care that went into it and /really/ respected them for it.

Their intros and outros were so good, even if there were hardly any vocals. I enjoyed songs like Declaration, which is literally just Yunho on the backtrack of Answer given the time to /shine/ and he did. I'm telling you I know their discography front to back, and I will always love it. ATEEZ is an important group to me. I still enjoy the music they put out, I just wish it was more...ATEEZ, you know? It's not even against them specifically.

They have improved in so many ways, singing, dancing (which has been so good since debut but even more so now), fashion, the like. I'm literally saying this as a fan who /still/ loves and adores them. I want to see ATEEZ stand out again. I understand Kpop is a factory industry, and a lot of groups do really similar things. But to me, ATEEZ stood out, and I really love them for it. I just want to see them stand out again. I'm going to keep supporting them, and unless something goes terribly wrong, I will probably support them for as long as they are a band, but these are just the conflicting thoughts I've been having, and I feel really bad as a fan for having them

EDIT: Hey guys! Thanks for giving the oppritunity for me to have a discussion! I've understood a lot better why I feel this way, and it's largely in part to the conversations I've had here. This felt very productive

I'm Forever Astonished by Warriors

I'm fairly behind on reading Warriors. I just started TBC for the first time this week, and OMG??? I just finished the first book of the series and I'm blown away. I stopped reading Warriors as a kid right as AVoS was coming out, and chronologically I had only read up till AVoS book one, without actually reading the series itself (think like Bramblestar's Storm). I sort of stopped reading all together from about 13 to 17, but I picked it back up, and I started rereading Warriors in chronical order, and developed my love for reading and for Warriors again.

All that to say, when picking up AVoS as a 20 yo adult, I was a little nervous. I was scared that I only loved the books up until this point because of nostalgia, and once I charted into unfamiliar territory I would just be disappointed because the nostalgia didn't carry through.

I AM SO GLAD I WAS WRONG

AVoS had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, even though I knew the structure, I knew the clans would be saved, I just didn't know how. I was reading this book series made for kids and the stakes still felt /so/ high.

Now reading TBC like...my heart is racing. I kept repeating, "Oh my God, oh my God" over and over again because I was so invested in the story. I raced through the book. The Erins still had it in 2019 at the very least, and I'm hoping that continues as long as I'm reading Warriors.

I knew these books were well-written. I knew that storytelling was fantastic. But it is still technically a series made for kids. My mom is a teacher and tells me all the time she sees her third graders reading the books. But the fact that they can make over 100 books and most of them are solid??? I'm so astonished by that team. TPB and OOTS will always be my favorites, but I'm /so/ glad I'm still enjoying myself at almost-22 with these series I still have yet to read :)))

Warriors 101 Suggestions

Hi guys!

Like you all, I am a /huge/ Warriors fan. I also have a YouTube channel (not gonna share it now, but when I post the video, maybe I will?) in which I want to post a comprehensive guide on the structure of Warrior Cats within the world itself. I'm basically calling it 'Warriors 101.' I'm planning on explaining dynamics through the first arc of Warrior Cats (up until OOTS #6). I'm just posting here to make sure I cover all of my bases and see if there's even any interest for this project lol. I'm doing it for fun, and for myself above all, but I'd also love it if others loved it too!

Here is the list of topics I have listed out to cover:

A Brief History (Ancient Cats until >!the death of Firestar!<

The Clans

Territory (What cats belong within the borders and what cats live outside)

Hierarchy

Language

Law (Warrior Code up until Bramblestar's Storm, Medicine Cat Rules)

Military (Battle tactics/notable battles)

Ceremonies

Religion

Basically a lot of what you can find in the field guides (Secrets of the Clans, Code of the Clans, ect.), but in video essay format. Let me know your thoughts or if you think I missed anything!
