Inherited this poor No.4.... in good shape other than its forced transition. Is it worth it to restore?
I think this is a mix of repop and maybe? original stuff, but I am no expert. The Narvik shields don't look original to me. And the general shoulderboards don't look Heer. Does anything else jump out as repop? I would be very grateful for any feedback.
Would anyone be able to identify these items? Are they genuine? Any information would be helpful.
Can anyone ID these? Are they genuine?
I have spent a lot of time on the moderator's excellent web page researching serial charts. I have the above rifle with serial # D41XX, which would fall into the 1938 production year. Is it common that a 1938 block serial would be marked 1939 (XVII)?
Smoker-noob here - needing advice. I've had an OJ's barrel smoker for about a year now. Prior to this, it has lived at 225-250F consistently with very little adjusting on my part, and it's really done the job flawlessly. I smoke with 1-2 times per week. Recently however, it's been a lot more finicky, and some days just damn stubborn - staying at 150 or so and requiring constant fiddling. I thought maybe it might be a cleaning problem - have not taken it apart - but I can't see any blockages. Photos show the position of the vents - What am I doing wrong??
