Unto Dust this week

So been playing D1 for the semi first time (It’s been so long I almost can’t remember lol) and saw the Unto Dust rocket at Dead Orbit this week. It’s got Hard Launch, Field Scout, Tripod, and Tracking. I know cluster bombs are super good on rockets but would this roll still warrant a purchase because I don’t got any other god roll rockets at the moment. Any explanation on how much better cluster is would also be appreciated.

So, in my current campaign, our DM has us fighting this massive wolf at level 5. At the moment we only have 4 players for the fight and a DMNPC that during their turn can give out a free turn to one of our characters. The fight was going really well and was super cool. As 2 of our characters, my artillerist artificer and our Paladin, do a lot of radiant damage, which it is vulnerable to. But the thing that made me start noticing something not being really that fair was the fact made a 37 on a dex save, which was later confirmed to have 18+ on Dex, this monster also has a 200 ft fear aura that once you fail, you can’t make another saving throw to get out of it and have permanent disadvantage.

By the end of the session, we were at the end of turn 3 and the thing suddenly jumped away like 175 feet from our party. The thing was like a 50 foot tall wolf but was still surprising because during the combat we basically hamstringed it with a crit. So we asked that if it is running away and we might have to chase it next session, but the DM confirmed it wasn’t even Bloodied yet despite having done almost around 250 damage to it from some lucky rolls. And to top it all off, it does an average 17 damage per hit while also having 8+ attacks, don’t know how many exactly because if also attacks the DMPC a few times before it attacks us.

So for a level 5 fight, with a Battlemaster Fighter, Thief Rogue, Devotion Paladin, and Artillerist Artificer. Do you feel it is fair for us to fight a monster, THAT WE ARE INTENDED TO FIGHT AND NOT RUN FROM, to have

500+ HP
8+ attacks that average 17 damage
+18 on dexterity saving throws
And A 200ft Fear Aura that once you fail you aren’t allowed to try and save on again unless moving outside of it.

Yes we have done around 250 of its HP in the first 3 rounds of combat, but the reason we aren’t dead is it’s basically missed half of its attacks because we’ve also had a frighten effect on the monster thanks to the battlemaster and I fear that now that we’ve basically used almost all of our recourses to burst damage it, we are gonna get TPKd because we can’t even out run the dang thing if we tried.
