Good start to Oct. The month end update is always marked to market so the gains are just from Oct. Dividends was larger from rising rates in SPAXX and being out of the market during FOMC week. I added a YTD graph from the Fidelity website to show the trend for the strategy. Bull markets can make everyone look like a genius, I’m aware of that. The line chart shows the strength and weakness of selling Puts. It held up pretty well in Feb/Mar when the market corrected, made money when the market was sideways from June to Aug, then underperformed when TQQQ surged 20% or so after FOMC in Sept. Everyone can make money: Buy and Hold, 9Sig, Options sellers etc. The important thing is find a style with an edge that fits your personality so you can stay the course day in/day out without losing your sanity. Respect to the OG people who have been here longer always helping or encouraging. I decided to start posting in January and honestly it has helped me be consistent and accountable for my own trades. TQQQ options expiring today. Gains are from yesterday’s move. Will let these expire instead of rolling. I will wait for another red day before selling Puts again. It still has around $0.08, about $5K assuming it expires worthless. Good start for October. Keep grinding.

Not ready to go back to TQQQ yet. I sold a Call credit spread last Tuesday. Max profit was $39K vs max loss of about $100K. Closed it today for a profit of $37K. Got some poker money to play with. I started to sell TQQQ $68 Puts today between $0.65 to $0.8 per contract expiring tomorrow. Sold about 100 or so but then changed my mind and closed all of it for a small gain. Like last month during Jackson Hole when I was also flat, that’s my plan for FOMC next week. In the last 4 months or so, I have been selling TQQQ Puts around $70ish and have made very good money. Look at my previous posts here at r/TQQQ. TQQQ has not done anything, so in a sideways market you can see that selling Puts is superior to Buy and Hold. In a trending market, BH is better. Keep grinding.

Always good to start the month right. Sold TQQQ Puts this week and closed most of them yesterday. See my previous post here at r/TQQQ. Made $9,073.39 in dividends from my core position in SPAXX. I was underwater briefly during the day I sold the Puts but I was legging into it so it wasn’t too bad. I can’t believe it’s been 9 months since I started posting here!

I closed the TQQQ Puts with $71 and $70 strikes. I have orders in place for the $69 Puts. I think the $68 strikes should be safe. Good gains this week. I have been posting since January and there were a bunch of questions that I have previously answered so scroll back on my post if you’re interested. Keep grinding.

Sold TQQQ Puts expiring this Friday. Underwater so far. I was flat going into Jackson Hole so no changes in my P/L going to end of Aug. Made $9,073.39 in dividends last month. Keep grinding.

Back to ATH profits for the year. I lost about $40K or so rolling down my TQQQ Puts 2 weeks ago. The $70 Puts and $71 Puts that I rolled it to expired worthless last Friday. I also sold some Koru $16 Puts last week that expired worthless but it had less liquidity. I didn’t like it. I only got filled towards the market close and the spread is too wide. Bought back my TQQQ $68 Puts this morning for a small loss. I am now flat going into Jackson Hole. Keep grinding.
Edit: Since I did not have any more positions going to end of August, this will be the end of August P/L.

Here are my positions expiring today. Rolled down my TQQQ Puts last week and lost about $40K. I’m posting this before the market opens today so we’ll have to see but it’s possible TQQQ closes lower than last week and I get back most of those losses.

Closed my TQQQ positions today. I’m back to ATH profits for the year. This was not a good trade at all although it made money. It was ugly but I was bailed out by the market. I sold but that does not mean I’m bearish, just taking advantage of the huge bounce from $57 to $73. Will try to sell puts again and start over. I just want to move on from this horrible trade.

My final end of the month tally is always marked to market. It includes unrealized loss and reflects my end of month account values. I was up almost $300K at some point but took a dip with TQQQ. I started with a Buy Write to $72, then sold another $69 Calls but still underwater on my TQQQ positions. Will continue to sell calls until it gets called. Made $7485.11 in dividends. It would’ve been better had I sold Puts to get into my TQQQ positions but mistakes happen. I had been traveling so this was a little late.

Lots of red again on my TQQQ Buy Writes. Positions had been green but GOOG and TSLA screwed it.

Here’s my TQQQ Buy Writes on Expiration day. The $72 Calls will expire worthless and that will lower my cost basis for TQQQ. I will sell more Calls against my positions for next week looking to keep lowering my cost basis. I made a mistake by not selling puts instead. I was thinking with the drop last week from about $75 to $69 or so was a good price to Buy Write. I obviously prefer a flawless trade but I don’t mind managing underwater positions like now. Keep grinding.

I also added a unique picture of my Fiorentina de Costata from Trattoria Mario. I want to give a shoutout to people calling my posts as fakes. It’s really going to blow their minds once they see the truth. I have a plan for these Buy-Writes but I’m still watching the price action.

Here’s my latest update. Made $72K from my TQQQ options 2 weeks ago including the gains from my Brokeragelink. I didn’t have any positions last week. It would’ve been nice to be assigned last Friday with the bounce today but sadly it was not to be. I like the price of TQQQ now with the drop so I actually have Buy-Writes now instead of my usual Puts. My calls are in the low 70, so looking for a small bounce. I got some grief when I missed the rise to $81 having sold just below $75 but now it’s below $70 again, such is the nature of trading. It’s hard to find the perfect peak or bottom. It’s easy after the fact and much harder to post things in real time like I do.

I’m doing this for my own consistency and accountability. I feel it’s made me a better trader. I am not selling anything, no BS courses or coaching. Look back at my previous post to see my strategy. Just wanted to post this updated P/L from what I posted yesterday to show that they are real trades. I have been posting since January and there were instances that people thought my trades were fake. Easy enough to verify the closing prices of TQQQ $75 Puts the last 2 days and see if it matches the total. These are screenshots so if it doesn’t let me know so I can complain with Fidelity. 😂 Let see how the day goes. I am not planning to get assigned so will either close or roll to next week. Keep grinding.

Bad timing this week. Sold Puts only to see TQQQ dip some more. Currently underwater by about $110K or so but if it were to close at this price would only be down $60K, so I have Theta on my back if it stays flat. Lol! It can keep dropping though. I did not follow my strategy. I closed my $74Puts Friday for $1 (see my previous post) only to see it rip on Monday, then FOMO’d into putting orders and getting filled when it retraced late in the trading day. Obviously took the brunt of the dip Tuesday. My current plan is to roll this down and out.

Look thru my previous post here at r/TQQQ for full context and before asking questions. I had 41,300 shares of TQQQ assigned when it dropped by almost $1 in the last 2 minutes of the trading day due to the Russell rebalancing. Profits come from the premiums received and the price appreciation of between $2.82 to $2.90 per share. I also sold $72 and $74 Puts later on the week. Made $5613.83 from dividends of my core positions in SPAXX. I know people here were saying I could’ve made more if I had waited since TQQQ went up to $81 but that’s just part of trading. I’ve been doing this long enough to know it’s impossible to have perfect timing.

Options positions this week. Took this picture earlier today around 10AM. $72P expired worthless and $74P I bought back for $1 before the market closed. Flat again going into next week. Will update on my next post the profit from the TQQQ positions that I sold in the premarket Monday. The position was actually worth $2.8M instead of $2.4M when I was adding the total earlier. Keep grinding.
