B10 Continued Software Glitches
It would be great if there were a single thread dedicated to the B10 software issues that seem to plague this platform.
In my case, I took delivery of my A5 in November. In April, the software was updated to KD2 to address the “Christmas tree” of warning messages and the loss of air conditioning. Less than 2 months later, I’m still getting random error messages, and Apple CarPlay is now unstable.
To make matters worse, the pre sense system randomly activated while I was driving causing hard braking and retracting the seat belt. It was quite startling. All of this in just 6 months of ownership and only 5,000 miles.
I brought the car back to the dealership, and this was their response:
“Verified concern, scanned vehicle and found multiple sporadic faults. Per TSB 2081477/2, this is a pending service solution and Audi is working on a service fix. The update is expected to release in Q3 2026. No concern with actual driving of vehicle. Audi will have a full solution for the current software glitches occurring. Audi will release the fix to dealers and to owners. Vehicle software is on its current firmware. Cleared any underlying faults.”
There was a similar statement regarding the CarPlay issues. However, for the pre sense activation, the technician stated that they could not replicate the concern and that the system is “working as intended.” I guess random activation is considered intended.
Lastly, the speedometer consistently reads about 2 mph faster than both GPS and the roadside speed display signs.
The dealership’s own statements acknowledge that there is currently no fix for these software issues. We’re expected to ignore repeated safety warnings and continue driving the vehicle. I’ve been a longtime Audi customer and I’m deeply disappointed by the significant decline in quality control. Great ride but the software problems seriously detract.
It doesn’t seem right that customers who paid full price are effectively serving as beta testers. In my opinion, owners should be compensated for the time, inconvenience, repeated service visits, and inevitabley greater loss of resale value than normal.
Has anyone had success obtaining compensation from Audi or pursuing another form of recourse? I’m in New York, where the lemon law requires 4 repair attempts for the same defect within the first 2 years or 18,000 miles. I’m already halfway there on the number of repair attempts.
