Idc if it's manga, manhua or manhwa. I am just desperate to find Yuri at this point. I've only read these two (The Guy She was Interested in wasn't a guy at all and Tamen De Gushi) and I'm freaking obsessed 😭✌ also, do not recommend me bad thinking diary, I don't read sm*t. TYSM in advance!

UNDERRATED GEMS Y'ALL NEED TO KNOW.

Warning: Long ahh yapping session, but the list of the title is listed in order down here:

  1. WHEN JASY WHISTLES (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: In ancient times, people believed that the forests of Paraguay were filled with gods and monsters. Growing up outside of modern Asuncion, Hela never thought much of the old stories. When her best friend disappears, apparently kidnapped by the legendary Jasy Jatere, however, she learns that the old world is not as dead as she had thought.

***

This one I thoroughly enjoyed. Not just because Jasy is a whole damn snack, but because the art and the plot is so freaking intriguing. You're probably going to hate yourself for not reading this sooner lol. The only negative thing about this is that IT'S CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. DAWG IT'S SUCH A ONE OF A KIND PLOT. THE FREAKING SETTING TOO IS CRAZY BCS I GENUINELY NEVER READ ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN THAT TYPE OF SETTING. LIKE JUST... WOAH.

  1. JUNE PEACH/THE PEACH OF JUNE (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: After two rebirths and two miserable, failed marriages, Leah Riveron vowed to never wed again. Despite this, she can’t get one man, the handsome duke Julian Raenal, off her mind. Though he ignored her in the past, this time, Leah throws caution to the wind and tells him every detail of her past lives. He won’t be interested anyway, right? But rather than repelling him, her refreshing honesty ends up charming him! Now, with Julian hooked, will Leah’s plan of a marriage-free life go as planned?

***

If you guys get to the part where you learn the whole truth, you would bawl your eyes to death. This reminds me so much of “For my Dearest Juliet” it's soooo good, if you like sad manhwas with a trap of sweet romance laid on you at first, this is for you lmao

  1. FLOWERS IN THE SECRET PLACE (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: A girl sneaks into the world of ghosts in search of her best friend. Willing to sacrifice everything to find him, she meets a strange boy with an interesting offer! A bittersweet and intriguing story about friendship and love adorned by flowers.

***

Not OI, it's a manhua (my first manhua ever) but I so freaking cried and laughed at the same time here. I loved the twists and turn, and IT'S JUST SO GOOD. THE NOSTALGIA IT'S GIVING ME IS CRAZYYY. Had me in a chokehold when I read that one chapter where I learnt the whole truth of their past. Like what the heck, please, someone needs to read this 😭✌

  1. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN/THE GREAT QUEEN/MY PHOENIX ON TOP (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: Distracted by a dating game, Xi Yuan meets her untimely demise in a horrific traffic accident.

When she awakens, she finds herself in a foreign land with a handsome prince greeting her intimately. Xi Yuan sets forth to form her own harem of beautiful boys, with the help of her newfound powers.

***

DO NOT BE FOOLED. I genuinely thought this was a reverse harem, but it wasn't lmao. The story made me freaking cry at the latter part (especially after I learned the >!white tiger's life!< anyway, uhhh it's a good read. It's so underrated, but I loved every part of the story. I genuinely rooted for zero (I think that was his name) because I DID NOT want any of the princes to end up with her, the system dude had way more tension/chemistry but aight. I already forgot the ending, but I remember it being super peak. This was such a huge nostalgia for me, this was one of my few earliest manhua to ever discover.

  1. NIGHT OF SHADOWS (ONGOING)

DESCRIPTION: Dreams come and go, but this nightmare is here to stay. Areum keeps a note to keep track of her dreams and premonitions, which, to her horror, oftentimes become true. One day, she discovers a set of pages she doesn’t remember writing, and that’s when all hell breaks out in her school. Can she piece the broken parts of her dream together and survive the terror that lurks in the dark?

***

Genuinely my favorite horror/mystery/supernatural story ever. I wish there was a kdrama adaptation for this because I really really enjoyed this one! Also, I'm definitely not reading this for the stupidly handsome uncle—AHEM, DEFINITELY NOT. Also, the yuribait is damn delicious. TOO MANY HOT CHARACTERS IN ONE HORROR MANHWA, PLEASE DON'T DIE.

  1. VILLAIN WITH A CRUSH/PURE VILLAIN (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: After confessing to her first crush of three years, Rosa Park falls for her second when the nation’s favorite Superpowered Police Officer, Doryeong Han, swoops in to save her as she’s plummeting from a toppling building. A few years later, a mysterious villain called Blackdog appears, but Doryeong notices something is not quite right. Will the world’s worst villain ever win the heart of the strongest hero in the country?

***

I laughed to death at this one, this was such a roller coaster ride. I wish more people knew about this. This is legit one of my favorites/comfort manhwas.

  1. THE DAWN THAT TWISTS YOUR NECK/DAWN OF VENGEANCE (ONGOING)

DESCRIPTION: [I believed it was love. Until he pierced my heart.] Princess Arsinoe of a kingdom, disrespected by everyone because she inherited the blood of an enslaved mother. She believed her life would change through marriage to Crown Prince Alejandro of the empire. She thought she would begin a happy life as a beloved wife and respected empress—until her husband pierced her heart with a smile on his face. Regression that repeats with each death. After struggling to avoid the tragic ending, she realizes she can no longer try to escape it. Now, in her fourth life, Arsinoe resolves to become queen and take revenge on the crown prince. Walter Heiberg, the sharpest sword capable of annihilating everything. With him, she can cut through even fate itself.

***

It's very political, And I love the slow burn. I love the female lead's personality. She isn't reserved, shy, or is she emotionally cold. She's like super realistic and funny (in a not over dramatic way) I think she's the kind of silly empress I would want in every manhwa. She's super duper smart, and she's just a very unique female lead.

  1. THE FLOWER THAT WAS BLOOMED BY A CLOUD (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: Hong Lyon, a pitiful young princess only in title, who has no power nor authority, meets a young nobleman named Dowun who offers to help her take what's rightfully hers… but at what cost?

***

This one won an award for a reason (2019 Tory Comics Award) IT'S GENUINELY THE BEST THING I'VE EVER READ. I wish she would end up with her body guard but other than the romance, it was genuinely ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Also, don't forget to bring your tissues. The ending is absolute heart wrenching. Like All three characters deserved so much more. UGH. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL.

  1. THE HOPELESS DESIRE OF A WITCH (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: A kind-hearted nobleman offers to take Kaidel under his wing and give him a life of luxury, but there's a catch - Kaidel must track down the witch responsible for burning down his village and find the "ember." Kaidel, who was raised by alchemists and trained in combat, sets out on a mission to find the white-haired sorceress. When he meets a woman with similar locks, he wonders if she's Eleanor, the witch he's been searching for. Despite negative rumors about her, Kaidel finds Eleanor to be incredibly sweet. As his feelings for her grow and his thirst for revenge intensifies, Kaidel must make a difficult decision about which path to take.

***

I told y'all, I adore witch stories. The type of stories that you know would have a tragic ending but would still keep reading because it's THAT GOOD. ABSOLUTE CINEMA. PHENOMENAL WRITING. PEAK.

  1. THIS WITCH OF MINE (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: In these times, if you're too good or bad at something or simply too beautiful, you're called a witch. Up against twists of fate and time, an outcast young boy and a mysterious witch will need more than just magic spells and incantations; they'll need each other.

***

Guys, I died again and again reading this for like idk how many times. I'm not sure if this is considered “underrated” but I just want to always insert this peak in every post HAHHAHA. You will never be able to shut me up if you talk to me about this manhwa. If you play either the songs “the man who can't be moved” or “Lifetime (reimagined)” to me, I would scream “THIS WITCH OF MINE?!!” BCS THEY OWN IT SO MUCH. THE MAIN COUPLE KILLED ME AND THE SIDE COUPLE DOUBLE KILLED ME. CAN I FREAKING GET A REST. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN BUT AT THE SAME TIME SO FREAKING SAD?! Also, please do not talk to me about THAT one chapter where he's surrounded by the crowd, everyone praising him as a hero after he >!killed her. Because damn EVERYONE. THEY DID NOT DESERVE THIS. TRAGIC AF.!< definition of green flags who would wait for each other no matter how long it takes.

  1. FOAM OF THE WAVES/FOAM OF THE SEA (COMPLETED)

DESCRIPTION: "Never forgive me."

Margret, who was brutally murdered by her lover, is reborn 7 years later as 'Meg'. Will 'Meg', who doesn't know anything about the world, be able to acclimate well into her new life...? A story uncovering the truth behind her death and the growing love between the characters!

***

If you haven't read this yet, you should rethink your life decisions (joke) anyway, I wish more people knew about this. The art? SO PRETTY. The story? SO GOOD. I love how it killed me again and again, brought me back to life and freaking killed me again. It's just THAT GOOD. Also, the first chapters had me crying. Wdym they're >!not the endgame?!!< I mean, I love the male lead, aight?! BUT THE TRAGIC LOVE STORY JUST DOES SOMETHING TO ME. If mystical had me crying until I died, this one sent me to afterlife immediately.

Hybe songs sound the same recently

Recently, I feel like EDM songs keep being released by HYBE. I love EDM, and enjoy EDM, but it feels like every group's release sounds the same. Le Sserafim's “Celebrate”, ILLIT's “It's Me” and Katseye's “Pinky Up” I feel like this all happened ever since gnarly. HYBE probably saw the potential and the fame katseye got from the concept, and just decided to copy the same genre and give/distribute it all to the groups. Yes, Le Sserafim have had a similar sound already (their song crazy) but it just feels weird to me that TXT is the only group that sounds different in the latest comebacks of the HYBE groups. What do you guys think? Of course, no hate for the groups though since those are still bangers no matter what (esp “It's me” I don't understand why it gets hated on)

Looking for angst or anything that would make me cry to death

I've mentioned this a lot in all my post here in this community, but I'M A SUCKER for angst, and well written manhwas. I'm extremely soft hearted/empathetic and is quite a bit weird in a way that I'm always looking for ways that would make me cry. Photos above are some of the angst/sad-ish ones I've read in my life, so if there's anything similar to that, I would very much be thankful cuz I really wanna cry myself to sleep tonight.

Anyway, here are the titles of the photos:

  1. My husband who hates me lost his memories

  2. My beloved oppressor

  3. This witch of mine

  4. Foam of the waves

  5. Mystical

  6. The duchess' death wish

  7. Stepmother's Marchen

  8. How to win my husband over

(Also honorable mention to my dearest juliet, the flower that was bloomed by the cloud, the broken ring: this marriage will fail anyway, long live the queen, and flowers at the secret place, I forgot to add the pic here and I'm lazy to edit.)

Edit: also if u didn't know, I'm a sucker for witch/mermaid stories since those are mostly ALWAYS sad. Idk why but I js love reading those type of fantasy (heavy on mystical too)

Just wanted to share my favorites list as a long-time historical manhwa reader

WARNING: This would be horrendously long, but I'll be listing down the titles in order :>

I've read historical manhwa for 10 long years, and I've seen lots of genres, plots, artstyles but here are some of my favorites so far!

1. FOAM OF THE WAVES

I liked this one specifically because of its art style/uniqueness and because I eat up angst most of the time. Reading this made me appreciate how beautiful the story is, and how well-written it is! This is probably one of my must-read manhwas.

2. I THINK I'VE TRANSMIGRATED SOMEWHERE

If you've read “Anyone can beat the original” this one is for you. The story is funny (has second hand embarrassment for the first few chapters, but you can get through it I trust you lol) and the couple has a cute dynamic. The Male lead is very expressive, and has emotions. I love seeing how flirty they are, and how healthy they are as a couple. This is one of the few romance fluff manhwas I've thoroughly enjoyed (as someone who enjoys angst more than anything)

3. AS THE HEART LEADS

ETHEREAL ART. ETHEREAL PLOT. ETHEREAL COUPLE. I don't know who to be jealous of, the male lead or the female lead. I love how freaking beautiful this couple is, and how healthy they are. You don't get frustrated by misunderstandings, because there's literally none. It just returned and I'm over the moon. I don't think I could say anything more, but trust me when I say it's PEAK.

4. FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE

This is so freaking funny. If you like lighthearted comedy, this is for you. The couple is peak, but the side couple—PERFECTION. I know the first few chapters is going to weird you out (especially the male lead saying: “17 is not too young to be married“ but dw I think he merely said that as a joke) but it's so freaking peak. The forced marriage doesn't seem right with me, but I love how not one character (even the readers) can't avoid but love the female lead. I love that the male lead is very expressive too, and he's not just there for decoration. The female lead is cute, realistic, and relatable, I'm currently in the middle of reading it, but I just feel like I wanted to share this with y'all (not finished reading this one yet)

5. MY BELOVED OPPRESSOR

I know everyone is divided with opinion about this one, but if you haven't read this yet, don't judge it by it's title, PLEASE. This one is TRUE ANGST. I love how well-written it is, how beautiful the art is, how realistic everything is, and how freaking beautifully painful this one is. I cried binging it—until the end, I DID NOT stop crying. I would reread this everytime and would still cry again and again and again. Please, at least read until chapter 20, because it gets better and better. My favorite arc has got to be >!the war arc !<because of how realistic it was portrayed. JUST LISTEN TO ME, IT'S SO PEAK. If you're soft hearted, don't read it. As a soft hearted, empathetic person who enjoys crying to death, I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.

6. THE MALE LEADS ARE TRAPPED IN MY HOUSE

First of all... CAN WE APPRECIATE THE ART?! Second of all, I'm a sucker for gorgeous hotties and baddies, and this one is filled with them. I love the female lead, and if I ever reincarnated in this one, I would want to be reincarnated as the male lead. Anyway, the plot is SO INTRIGUING and if you like horror but also funny kind of manhwa, this one's for you. But for the most part, I'm reading this for the art and the female lead (I enjoy the plot too)

7. PERKS OF AN S-CLASS HEROINE

Art is good, but the PLOT IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE ART IS. I love the system kinda ORV like bit to it, especially the main characters. It's not a romance centered story, and I appreciate action fantasy a lot. If you haven't read this yet, YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON A LOT. I don't know why I'm running out of words, but it's just peak. It's peak.

8. BLINDED BY THE SETTING SUN/THE SPARK IN YOUR EYES

JUST READ IT. I don't know what else to say, but JUST... JUST READ IT. PLEASE.

9. THE FLOWER WITH A SWORD

Yes, it may be cliche, but the execution of the story is just CHEF'S KISS. It's not peak but I would recommend it.

10. CHARLOTTE AND HER FIVE DISCIPLES

PEAK. THIS IS MY FIRST EVER FAVORITE MANHWA AND PLEASE PLEASE JUST READ IT. I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH.

11. THE VILLAINESS FLIPS THE SCRIPT

JUST READ IT. PLEASE.

EDIT: I just want to add “When Jasy Whistles” it's criminally underrated, it's my favorite!!

[Anyone Can Beat The Original] is such a breath of fresh air.

First of all, I'm not the type to read fluff and happy-happy type manhwas, since I eat up complex, angst, dark manhwas (eg. My Beloved Oppressor, This Witch of Mine, For my Dearest Juliet, Foam of the Waves, The Spark in your eyes, etc etc) so I was delightly surprised that I'd enjoy this one.

THE ART is so GORGEOUS. I don't think I've ever seen any female lead look this ETHEREAL and pretty—but also have the brains required to be a main character. I initially read this because it popped up on my FYP, because I just finished reading “My husband who hates me lost his memories” which is why I was crying non stop, and I wanted to refresh and read something a bit more “cliche”

I started reading it with no expectations at all, but it was VERY FUNNY, and their dynamics as a couple is so good! If you're tired of a couple who does not communicate, this is for you.

The main couple aren't afraid of saying “I love you”, and they're very much not allergic to kissing, holding hands, and being cuddly in front of other people. I love seeing a female lead who's very forward and honest about her feelings too, and the fact that their romance isn't dragged for many chapters. I enjoy the fact that it >! It doesn't take long for them to confess and realize their feelings, and that they dealt with their feelings pretty maturely and quick!<

You know how when a couple starts dating, everything is just... gone? The sparks, the tension, it's no longer exciting anymore. But for them, it gets even more interesting. It's literally become my happy pill, but it's not plotless either—both leads are green flags, healthy, and communicating. The villains, though not that complex, is still a challenging foes. It's an interesting and fun read through and through as someone who really hates cliche tropes/stories.

I also love the fact that we get to see the male lead's POV every now and then, and we often hear his thoughts. Him being treated as A MAIN CHARACTER that he is, I'm really in love with it. I love that the female lead is neither OP, or weak. She knows her strength and she uses it to her advantage. She's very strong, resilient, and doesn't back down—that's what I love about her. She's not someone who will cower in fear or cry because someone said something that hit close to home, but she isn't also someone emotionless and too strong that makes the story boring because you know she WILL win. She's someone who's very interesting, and realistically strong for a noblewoman.

Maybe it's because it became my palette cleanser after consuming too many angst, however, it's become my favorite so far. I just wanted to share, Because i'm really just that desperate to see people talking about my new favorite manhwa lmao.

Just a warning, it gives you second hand embarrassment at first (though it's funny) but IT GETS BETTER. PLEASE TRUST ME, AND GET THROUGH IT.

5th Gen It Girl isn't decided yet.

This may be random, but I just wanted to speak up about the 5th gen It girl arguments I've seen online, usually about whether Ahyeon, Wonhee, Ian, or Gehlee are the It girls.

Personally, I want Wonhee to be the It girl (imo) BUT it isn't decided yet, so why are we being comfortable labelling idols as the It girl and then fighting others when people label other girls as it girl?

It girl has lost its meaning. Kpop fans nowadays label It girl as “the prettiest/popular one” when It Girl has always been about Influence. I'm tired of the arguments of Monstiez (I think that's the fandom name) and Glitts (idk if that's the fandom name, cuz I'm js a casual fan of Illit) about Ahyeon/Wonhee being It Girl.

It's too early for us to say that someone is an It girl because 5th gen barely started. There's still new girl groups to debut, like Unchild recently debuting. New girl groups = more potential it girls. So labelling someone as an It girl so early is crazy. Like, I'm alright if you praise your idol, saying she's it girl because that's your opinion, but arguing about it to others is just not okay. Because let's accept that 5th gen hasn't ended yet, we still have to wait and see what happens next <33

MY BELOVED OPPRESSOR IS THE PEAK.

I wasn't expecting anything from this, but when I actually read it—first chapter until chapter 43 HAD ME SOBBING NONSTOP. I'm extremely softhearted, but reading manhwas like this witch of mine, foam of the waves, for my dearest Juliet, made me kinda immune to tragic stuff, but when I read it—I tell you what, I never stopped crying. I sobbed so hard my eyes hurt, I binged it and I just couldn't stop crying that I had to pause every chapter and go to YouTube to watch some try not to laugh videos (spoiler, it didn't work)

Anyway, I highly recommend it! The art? Gorgeous. The characters? PERFECTLY REALISTICALLY WRITTEN. The plot and pacing? Might just be the most well written ever. Also, the war aspect had me CRYING. The ending and resolution was also CHEF'S KISS.

Like it's not your typical “my husband mistreats me so I run away but I fall in love with him anyway” kinda trope that is super basic. It's not written to be basic. It's super complex, every character is written SUPER thought out, and it was ABSOLUTE CINEMA. It sheds light to a LOT OF THINGS. I emphatized with the female lead so much, and even more so the male lead. At first, I hated him, but then I realized just how realistic he was written. The trauma, the PTSD, the scars—IT'S ALL SO REALISTIC. It didn't even feel like fiction to me.

I suggest you check it out, or you might just regret not ever doing so. I'm blessed to be the first in my bloodline to read this masterpiece. ABSOLUTE CINEMA.

It's about time we accept the truth.

While I am personally sad over Heeseung leaving enhypen, I don't think it's right for us to be spamming his name on members lives.

Boycotting isn't the right way either. Yes, HYBE is an evil company, but if we boycott enhypen, won't that just make it hard for the group themselves and even more for Heeseung?

As a fan, I know myself that Heeseung really wanted to make his own music. Ever since ILAND, it's very NOTICEABLE. There could be underlying reasons behind him leaving, but at this point, there's really no saying that he'd even come back. Enhypen is now 6, and we will cherish the memories when they were 7. If we push HYBE too much, they might even disband ENHYPEN. Also, it's not like Heeseung will disappear. He will debut as a solo, we can still support him, and Enhypen. Heeseung and Enhypen members are still going to be friends off screen, and we should be just happy that this ended like this. If HYBE responds to our protests, I feel like it wouldn't be in a positive way. It's either they'll disband enhypen themselves, or even forbid the members from meeting Heeseung.

I know, we're all sad, it's hard to accept that someone we love is leaving the group you stan, but it's not right for us to disregard other member's feelings. Especially the hate on Sunoo. Sunoo is doing so good singing heeseung's parts, and yet he gets criticism. Are we really sad because a member left enhypen, or sad because it's HEESEUNG who left enhypen?

The members have feelings too. We shouldn't add pain for them, because we KNOW they're hurting EVEN MORE THAN US. Jay told us to stop mentioning Heeseung, and even Jungwon. The members themselves said THAT. We should learn to accept the truth, especially since Heeseung will be performing solo as EVAN this June on KCON. Let's just support the group and Evan.

Army are so toxic, and it's infuriating.

This is probably not a hot take, and we've definitely hears this a lot of times, but Army is SO toxic and PARASOCIAL.

Is it just me or whenever I see someone comment they're an army under a thread, I just know that they're going to go crazy if someone said the slightest wrong thing about BTS? Like I've seen this post on tiktok about the secret beef between Jimin and Jeongyeon of twice. As a Once, I was laughing so hard—because this is an og meme most of us know.

Then, I see an army saying “she's jealous of him, because she's unknown in korea and outside korea” and it irritated me, because are we talking about the same Jeongyeon, FROM TWICE? One of the biggest GG, and the biggest kpop GG in Japan?! I get it, I respect BTS because they're very talented, but the world DOES NOT revolve around BTS. I hate how they always say without BTS, kpop wouldn't have suceeded. Invalidating other's work made me super angry.

Someone also said “Exo? Seventeen? Red Velvet? Do those actually even exist? I bet Jungkook looks at them in disgust because they're FLOPS. They can't even go near my glorious BTS” LIKE??

Exo paved their own way, Seventeen paved their own way, Red Velvet paved their own way. Shut your nonsense saying BTS PAVED OTHER'S WAY.

It's annoying that majority of the Army I meet always ALWAYS have to be so obsessed with their idols. Someone literally threw stuff at me when she learned I was a Carat because she was so bitter that Seventeen had the most selling album for FML, and BTS arirang didn't win? Like they kept saying we rigged it, and that Seventeen is an unknown kpop group.

I mean, I don't really care. I'm not an Army, nor do I care about what happens in that group, because I genuinely do not have any interest in them. I just avoid that group because of one reason: THE FANDOM.

They're so parasocial, it disgusts me whenever I see a character AI of jungkook, Jimin, or other members, because that's just so... disgusting? Even the fanfics is insane. That's crossing the line. Basic human dignity, where?

Blinks is already annoying, but Army is even more so. I have so many things to say about Army, but i'll end this here.

EDIT: Since everyone is getting confused, I didn't mean to generalize every ARMY. I want this post to be specifically towards the toxic ARMY I met, not the good ones. I'm very sorry for wording this SO WRONG. I acknowledge my mistake, I'm very sorry.
