Laparoscopy recovery is kicking my butt

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for gas pain? And I mean like farting gas, not the stuff that goes to your shoulders.

I have been farting like CRAZY. I didn't poop for 4 and a half days so I took a laxative (even though I've had stool softeners) and now I've pooped SEVEN times. I feel awful. I am typing this from the toilet. I just can't believe that laxatives would cause this much pain. I feel nauseous and my stomach hurts and I am toilet bound.

Advice please 😭 has anyone else had this issue? I'm afraid to eat anything or leave this toilet tbh

PMDD + Endo means "period relief" isn't really a thing

Basically the title. Luteal ends as my period comes but...at what cost?

Mood swings? Gone (ish)

SI? Yeah that cooled down

God awful pain in my abdomen, back, hips, + exhaustion? Of course! Why not!!

And what does deblitating pain make you feel or want to do? Die, honestly. Curl up in a ball and give up all adult responsibilities.

I envy those who are glad their period shows up. Mine is just an indicator that the end is soon to come, but not soon enough. Ovulation also hurts really bad (I have cysts).

Then the cycle repeats. It's like I'm grasping at relief but it's just out of reach.

Does anyone else feel like this?

(Side note: this is not meant to put down anyone who doesn't suffer from endo. I'm just having a jealous moment and I'm in my feels. I am appreciative that not every woman has to deal with these difficulties.)

Need to get surgery. New hire. Am I screwed?

Got the job about a month ago. Got the news about my condition about 3 days into the job.

Learned I need surgery and am scheduled for it in 2 months. Will need at a minimum 1 1/2 - 2 weeks off + lighter work because I will still be recovering.

I feel like I'm totally screwed. I work fulfillment so it's not like I can just get a chair and work the service desk or something. I need to lift heavy things and bust ass (I'm averaging 20k steps every shift...that ain't gonna work after surgery). It's minimally invasive surgery but surgery nonetheless. I haven't heard much about recovery time but I'm estimating up to 6 weeks no heavy lifting.

I am part time so I fear they aren't afraid to just drop me if I have too many needs.

  1. How do I go about asking for that time off? It's my first real job and I don't know how medical leave works (??)

  2. Scale of 1 to 10 where am I at on staying w the company/level of screwed? I feel like I'll be a total burden to them but don't they also legally need to accommodate my needs? Idk. Just some advice please.

Pain management tips and tricks? Please.

I can't take painkillers all day every day. It's gonna kill my stomach and I don't think it's good for me.

But I can't handle the pain. I have an active job, and activity makes it hurt so so bad. Especially in my hip area, like in the pelvic region right next to my hip bones. Every step hurts. Laying on my side hurts. Sitting down hurts.

The only way I've managed it is advil or other over the counter medications, but my doctors don't want me taking those so consistently. What do I do??? I have surgery scheduled 2 months from now, but this pain is making it feel like ages.

It's a violent cycle of physical activity making the pain flare up, and nothing fixing it until I take some painkillers and rest (6+ hours).

I need solutions ladies!! The weird ones. The traditional ones. The "idk how it works but it does" ones. Literally anything. I'm going to go insane. It's like period cramps double the pain but on each side of my uterus. I can only act like it doesn't hurt for so long.

Want to dye her but have some questions

First of all, the description of this jacket makeup is

  • Outer Shell: 100% heavyweight firm-hand cotton duck canvas.
  • Thermal Lining: 100% polyester "waffle" thermal knit insulation

I want to dye it the brown I show in the second slide. Im not super concerned about the inside, but I figured I'd ask - does it matter what dye I use? Since the outer shell (what I care about) is 100% cotton, I'm thinking it'll dye fine with normal rit dye. I thrifted this jacket so I don't care too badly if the inside is ugly.

Essentially, which dye would be the best bet for me?

Secondly, is there any way to preserve the logo on the front or am I better off removing it? It is just a sewed on patch, but I did read something about liquid latex working to preserve sections when dyeing.

Lastly, how much will the current color affect the dyed color? I don't like the khaki color but I also don't want poop vibes if it greatly affects the result.

I'm wanting the jacket to be almost the color that the bottom section is right now. If you have any advice/ideas please lmk!

They found FOUR endometriomas on my MRI

Pretty much the title. 4 lil dudes varying in size, 3 on my right ovary and 1 on my left.

I have yet to talk to my doctor, because for some reason a follow up appointment doesn't just come as a package with the MRI...I have to wait 3 weeks.

I really have no idea what these indicate, how bad they are, or what I should do. All I know from Google is that having these cysts means I have endometriosis (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't even know if 4 is the average or I'm breaking some record.

I'd love some shared perspective and experiences.

When is an operation worth it? They cause me pain almost daily and I am already on birth control. What was recovery like for you? How big of an endometrioma is bad big? My largest was 3 cm.

These are all things I can/will discuss with my doctor, but I want genuine perspective instead of a male with a PhD vaguely answering my questions. I haven't had much clarity this whole mess of a journey, so I really want to know how others have handled this/what they have done. Yes I can Google, but that's not what I need right now - I plan on researching after some perspective is shared.

Being a woman just sucks sometimes

I don't know where to start.

I think the first thing is that any type of pain or complaint is only cared about if it's debilitating. Oh you have frequent pelvic pain? Well unless you feel like you're getting literally gutted you don't really need medical care. My complaints have been put off and scheduled far out and tested for stuff I *knew* it wasn't for MONTHS. Surprise surprise, I have 4 endometriomas on both my ovaries (3 on one, 1 on the other). It's taken over 4 months for these doctors to look into what's causing my pain. And they're small! None over 3 cm! So unless my pain is extremely debilitating, I get to ride it out until they get big enough they're an actual concern.

That part might not actually be true...I still have to consult my doctor. Even if I do get surgery though, I JUST started a new job and it's extremely physical, and I can't be taking time off one week into starting. So wtf do I do? Take painkillers all day every day to manage it? Get surgery that will maybe fix it and put me out for a week?

Moving on! Now this one might be a complaint for some but a blessing to others, but because of my birth control (Mili) I've gone up about a cup size and a half. Yay I guess? I can't afford to keep buying new bras. I want cute ones! But my boobs cannot be caged. I bought a new one 3 months ago and now it doesn't cover my nipples. My sports bra that was SO comfy pops a boob out every time I move.

Legitimately how do women with this side effect survive? I'm so mad all the time and my shirts look more slutty because they aren't covering as much and at this point only one sports bra and one real bra fit me. I know it's not a super reasonable complaint but holy shit. I don't like these side effects. Esp the weight gain too. I've put on 15 to 20 pounds in 3 months, which is crazy for me because I've maintained the same weight for 3 or 4 years now.

Also I skip the placebos in my BC pack and have 2 packs currently being used (I forget to bring it during sleepovers) so I have NO clue where I'm at in my phases. So I'm really stuck on the "Am I just a bitch? Or is it luteal?"

Idk when to call myself out vs calming myself down bc it's not the real me.

Does anyone relate to any of this? I feel like I'm alone in my disaster of feelings and boobs and freshly diagnosed endometriosis.

Has life just sucked recently for anyone else?

What the title says. Its like everything piles on at once - theres never a steady balance.

I've been an emotional nightmare, and battling it out with my inner self for 3 weeks now. It's so so exhausting and it's the first time my bc hasn't provided at least some relief. I am recovering from those weeks! But wow. You don't realize how draining it is just...being sad. You'd think missing days of work and staying in bed would recharge your battery, but nope. It's exhausting *feeling* things.

I also got a vaginal infection! I am not sexually active and take pretty good care of her, so it was such a cherry on top of a shitty group of weeks. Nothing serious, just never ending itchiness.

To finally end it all, I learned I have (an?) endometrioma all up in my ovary. I had been having pelvic pain for about 2 months now and my follow up revealed that one ovary has a normal cyst, and the other is abnormal. I've barely started life and I am EXHAUSTED. I'm scared for my follow up to those findings, because what if it's really serious? What if I need an ovary out or something? It was also suggested I get an MRI so...what could that possibly mean?

It's just like wow. I'm sure life is hard without PMDD, but when you're dealing with other stuff it really just punches you in the gut. Especially when it's all woman issues??? Sometimes I wish I was a man.

I recently met a psychologist and I'm having am evaluation in a few months. To be entirely honest, I don't really know what it's all about, but I was told it would take 3 to 4 hours and the closest open appointment was SEPTEMBER. I think it's a combo of a few evaluations, PMDD being one of them.

Anyways, my psychologist emailed me with the IAPMD symptom tracker and requested that I fill it out up until my appointment. Yay! Right?

No. I'm on birth control, and from what I've heard, (correct me if I'm wrong), a diagnosis cannot be made while you are taking birth control. I contacted her with that info, and that image is what she sent in response (I did also ask if I should discontinue the use of my BC for tracking).

A screenshot from our exchange is the image above. I want some feedback on what to say/change in response. I plan on sending this:

"Sorry if this is an odd question, but what is the point of my tracking if a diagnosis cannot be made when I am on birth control?

This is information I've heard - I don't know if it's entirely correct.

I don't see the point of tracking since:

  1. My cycle is irregular due to the BC (no period), so I don't know when luteal really is or where to start on the chart
  2. My birth control has alleviated a lot of my symptoms that I would have previously tracked (I sought it out *for* PMDD)

I will discuss this with my OB further, but I wanted to know your reasoning behind seemingly pointless tracking."

Am I totally wrong about the BC thing? I feel all empowered to advocate for myself because I've been running in circles for this stupid diagnosis, but I seem to be getting nowhere.

Help and advice please! I feel dumb right now.

This is something I feel like I've noticed in myself, so I was wondering if others relate.

For some background, I did have depression in the past, but am unsure if it was linked to PMDD or just straight up depression (my middle school years, so its foggy). So this might just be returning and unrelated to my PMDD.

Anyways, I feel like having PMDD has degraded so many aspects of my life to the point that even on my good weeks I can't feel happy and better because I'm busy repairing everything I destroyed during luteal. It's hard to feel happy when I know the awful feelings are going to come back. Especially the invasive thoughts - "maybe I SHOULD have broken up with him, maybe luteal me was right!" (Defintely not). "Now I have to clean my depression room, answer those emails, go to work, and finally finish that assignment I put off all week". It's like self-induced burnout that I can't avoid bc luteal me is a total potato. It's so irritating and I've created my own, even worse, PMDD then weeks of depression never ending carousel.

Side note, this is a recent development. I do not believe I have PME, as I've only recently started feeling depressed all month, opposed to only during luteal. It's like a mild luteal when I'm not even in luteal.

Does anyone else experience this? The dread of approaching luteal drags me down so much I don't have the energy or mental capacity to enjoy my weeks away from hell.
