Overheating due to damaged heatsink?
This is quite a long story but I recently handed my G15 to a shop to perform a board level repair.
It seems like they removed the heatsink I assume for their diagnosis. Back in December I repasted with ptm 7950 and some upsiren and temperatures were flawless.
After I was handed the pc back the pc skyrockets to 100 degrees Celsius in 1 second at 200MHz clock speeds. When I opened it up I saw my PTM and putty were replaced with LM on CPU, regular paste on the gpu and pink pads on the VRMs (picture 3). I was shocked and a bit mad that they put back LM without telling me but I wouldn't even have noticed if the GPU was performing properly. I ordered new Upsiren and had some PTM left over so I had to go through all of the pain of removing their LM and paste and put back PTM and Upsiren. I closed the laptop all screws tightened in the correct order and ran the stress test.
The temperature still goes to 100 degrees on the hotspot in one second and opening the laptop again in Picture 1 and 2 only half of the cold plate makes contact with the GPU as you can see half of the PTM transferred over.
I didn't put much Upsiren (I redid a trial with less still overheats and no transfer)
The screw near the side that doesn't make contact behaved a bit weird from the get go (almost like it's a bit warped) maybe it's related and doesn't apply enough pressure
Hovering my hand over the GPU side of the heatsink with the PC running I can feel a strong breeze of air. (Picture 4)
Exhaust is really cold GPU side.
So I just want to confirm my suspicion that the heatsink was damaged somehow during their repair and the solution is to order a new one. The CPU behaves okay but the GPU is basically unusable for gaming. Hotspot jumps to 100 degrees in 1 second which I assume is that side that does not make contact.

Has anyone ever experienced this, all the software related troubleshooting does not work. Happened over the weekend, Friday videos were fine and this started on Monday. Likely hardware.
