Be careful on where you get avatar commissions! A warning and lesson from someone who was scammed before

There are many VRchat commissioners out there, and let me tell you.. many of them are legitimate. However when I first started playing, I never knew that almost all VR chat commissioners would have to be reached out to, not them reaching out to you.. almost all of the ones who DM you (as i have now learned) are most likely scammers..

Long story short, I gave away $600 usd for a ground up commission from an avatar creator who was "reputable" but have yet to see even a wip after nearly 1 year. Since then I have found reputable creators who have made my art within 1-2 months who have done a fantastic job and gave me a more than fair price.. just a TLDR for those looking to get commissions, just be careful who you speak to, and ask around the community for reputable creators.

To those who use AI for their group banners, stop using them. Youre losing members and interest from the community.

I do not like using AI banners nor make event announcements using AI. And in all honesty, i will leave a group is i see a ton of AI sloppy joe. Honestly i love groups that show creativity as it shows a passion for their craft. And honestly I dont feel like im the only one who feels this way about it. Does anyone else share this sentimate? If you disagree feel free to say so, no criticism here just sharing my personal opinion. I feel like groups would grow with less AI as I feel like the VR community is a majority anti AI.. at least from what I can conclude.

Hot take: its easy to make friends in VR and the social aspect to the game is great.

Ive been seeing a lot of people posting about how its hard for them to make friends in vr, hard to walk up and socialize with people.. etc etc etc...

Honestly it just seems like youre not walking into conversations with any confidence, at the end of the day saying "hey, how are you" isnt too difficult man. Some people will be happy to talk, some wont. Its not much different in real life, if anything its much easier since youre behind an avatar. Conversation and making friends is easy, personally I just see it as an individual issue and not the state of the game. I have made so many friends by just talking and asking questions.. sitting in a corner in silence like youre clint eastwood from Unforgiven or like an angry grandmother/grandfather overcooking their tapioca is going to make everything harder for you

Strangest conversations you have had with a person in VRChat? I met a guy who claims to have met aliens in vr.

I was at a party with one of my friends and a guy walked up to me having a normal conversation, later to get onto the topic that aliens live amongst us in vr and are using it to gather information about us. The crazy part was that they were completely serious and met this said "alien" tbh I think that he might be the alien. Whats a weird one for you guys?

Ladies of VRchat, do you find it difficult to have a friendship/elationship with other woman within the virtual space and find it easier to befriend men?

I've heard from numerous female sources that I VRChat, there's a lot of betrayal, jealousy, and all around trash-talk amongst female/female friendships within the VR space, is this for a select few or do many of you have this similar experience? I just want to hear your opinions on this.

People who use their mental/health disorders as excuses to be jerks in VRchat urk me to no end.

Being nice doesnt cost anything, and sometimes people are just mean to be mean. But people who decide to start saying "my bipolar disorder is causing me to think youre ugly, im sorry" (example) is just purely an excuse to be insulting to someone for no reason. People who do that, i avoid and refuse to take seriously. To be honest, certain disorders and disabilities can be limiting, but to use it for every excuse in the book to just not be a good person is a invalid excuse.

Friend thinks its weird that I go on orange, calling it "hiding from people" is that weird? I feel like they are overthinking it.

I sometimes go on blue when I host events of my own, but when im out with groups of friends at someone else's event I usually go on Orange because there are just some friends on my friends' list that wouldn't mesh well with each other. However this person im talking to keeps telling me its a "red flag" but the only red flags im getting is from them. Are they overreacting?

Constantly hearing the claim that learning unity and blender is easy from the VRC community. Maybe for you guys! Not me though..

I always hear from the playerbase that when I bring up buying VRC commissions for an avatar creation that im wasting my money and can make my own. If it was so easy I would have done that already... I work 40+ hrs a week, have responsibilities outside of vrchat, so I dont really have the time to sit and take months out of my time to learn these creation engines... its not that I cant learn, its that it is so time consuming and requires a lot of patience and dedication which I dont have at this time. Does anyone else feel like people claim its so much easier than it really is

Last photos i took of my little FAVORITE buddy alpha getting ready for his final nap. He passed away about 20 minutes after I took it this evening. He loved to get scratches under the chin and loved playing in his ballpit with his other furry friends. The hardest thing owning ferrets is saying goodbye after having them and raising them for so long. I had 15 and im down to only 4. I love them all the same. REST EASY ALPHA YOU WERE THE BEST.

Today, Ariel interviewed Daniel Dubois in one of the most awkward interviews you can possibly watch. It's almost hard to watch in all honesty just because of how unbelievably strange Dubois can be when behind a camera.

however the title is tasteless especially when the man puts time into the day to speak to you. Disrespectful title from Ariel!
