How to help a 4month baby stop relying on a swing cradle for sleep?
Hi mums.. My baby has been sleeping in a cradle swing since she was 2 month old. When she was a newborn, I was overwhelmed and very tired because she would only sleep if I carried her. That’s why I have decided to buy a swing cradle, and it was really helped me a lot.
However, the problem has been started when she got used to sleeping in the swing cradle. It became very difficult for us to go out, because whenever she felt sleepy, she would look for the swing cradle to fall asleep. So, if we were outside and she got sleepy, she would become fussy and cry because she couldn’t sleep any other way whether in my arms or in the stroller. She will prefer to keep sitting and awake though we could see that she is sleepy. Because of that, we always go out only when it’s not her nap time.
Now she’s 4 months old, and she still loves her swing cradle. Sometimes she wakes up in the middle of the night or after drinking milk, and she can’t go back to sleep, so we put her in the swing cradle and she falls asleep again. She also often wakes up early in the morning (around dawn) and asks to be put back in the swing again.
I have some questions below and wish that you guys could share some advice or knowledge.
Do any of your children have the same experience as mine? What can I do to help him stop relying on the swing cradle?
