Stuck as an intern for 6+ months, no conversion, salary delays, and rumors of bankruptcy. Should I quit?

Hey everyone, I need some advice because I’m really stuck.

I’ve been working as an intern at this company for over 6 months. When I joined, the understanding was that after 6 months I’d be made permanent. That hasn’t happened. Now they’re saying they can’t convert me because I don’t have a BSc, even though the role never mentioned that as a requirement when I started.

On top of that, there are rumors going around from the finance department that the company might go bankrupt by the end of July. Salaries are also being paid very late every month. Sometimes it’s 2-3 weeks delayed.

I’m working while learning, but my family’s financial situation isn’t good, so I can’t just quit without a plan. I’m worried that if I stay, I’ll end up working for free, but if I leave, I don’t have another income source lined up yet.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Should I start job hunting quietly and leave as soon as I get something, or is it worth trying to wait it out? How do I handle this without burning bridges?

Sri Lankan buses are a nightmare, and the conductor job needs to be scrapped.

Sri Lankan buses are the worst and conductors just make it worse

The whole system is stuck in the 90s. You’ve got buses that are already packed, and then the conductor tries to squeeze through shoving people around like that’s gonna magically create more space. It’s annoying as hell.

And don’t even get me started on the shouting. “ඉස්සරහට යන්න! ඉස්සරහට යන්නකෝ!” Bro, there’s literally nowhere to move. People are hanging off the door, your face is in someone’s armpit, and they’re still yelling at you like you’re choosing to stand in the MIDDLE.

It’s rude, it’s pointless, and it makes the whole ride 10x more stressful than it needs to be.

Other countries use tap cards, fixed stops, and automated ticketing. No one hanging out the door screaming, no one fighting over change, no one getting injured trying to collect fares on a moving bus. It works faster, it’s safer, and it’s less miserable for everyone.

Sri Lanka keeps holding onto conductors because “it’s a job”, but it’s a job that makes public transport worse for everyone who actually uses it. If we want buses to be bearable, get rid of the conductors and modernize the system.

Anyone else feel the same? What’s the worst conductor experience you’ve had?

Need gift ideas for my friend’s 23rd birthday!

Hey everyone!

My friend turns 23 next month and I’m totally stuck on what to get her 😅

About her:

Loves small, fancy/cute collectible toys - think blind boxes, figurines, desk decor that looks nice but tiny

Into anime cards - she collects them casually

Recently got into crafts - she’s been making small stuff for fun

She’s moving to a Scandinavian country in August, so I’d love something that’s either travel-friendly or would help her.

Budget: Around 1000- 2000 LKR, but I can stretch a bit if it’s really worth it.

Would welcome any ideas 💡

Thanks in advance!

Is The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% for 3450 LKR on FB Marketplace legit or fake?

Hi all, need a sanity check before I waste money.

Found The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% 240ml on Facebook Marketplace for 3450 LKR + 450 delivery. COD. Seller has only little reviews and didn’t send batch code pics before dispatch.

Has anyone bought TO this cheap in SL and got a real one?
What red flags should I check if I do COD?
