**SITUATION**
With D-Day only two days away, Allied fighter units are conducting final combat training in preparation for the invasion of Normandy. Pilots operating from Funtington have a number of training areas available with cold, hot and airborne starts. The Air Combat Zone is located approximately 4 NM south of the field. Four ground-target arrays are positioned just north of Selsey near the three lakes. A structure-target array is located south of Prinsted, while airfield targets are available at Tangmere and simulated U-boat are operating along the coastline south of East Wittering. For carrier operations, USS Essex is stationed offshore. Pilots are to make full use of these ranges to sharpen their air-to-air, air-to-ground, and carrier skills before the coming invasion.

Welcome to Fightertown JRM, the United States Navy’s premier advanced fighter training detachment in the Western Pacific, inspired by the legacy of Fightertown USA and built to prepare the next generation of Tomcat crews for modern fleet operations.

Operating from CVN-71 USS Theodore Roosevelt, stationed offshore west of Guam within Joint Region Marianas, pilots assigned to the F-14B(U) will train across the full spectrum of naval aviation warfare. Designed as an immersive and repeatable combat training environment, Fightertown JRM combines foundational skills with advanced tactical scenarios to develop disciplined, capable aircrew ready for fleet deployment.

**DESIGN NOTES**
This is a sandbox-style training mission designed for both solo and multiplayer with hot and cold starts, carrier and airfield takeoffs and landings, and a large variety of targets spawned via Comms F10. Group Target Drones are large targets that take no evasive maneuvers designed for basic target practice against incoming fleet threats. Fighter Air Targets are available with no weapons, guns only, IR missiles or fully armed and range in difficulty from Rookie to Ace. Ground targets are all weapons hold (unless SAM site ROE is set to Weapons Free) and will not relocated during attacks for ground engagement practice. Easy Comms is allowed and preset channels have been included for those with it disabled.
