So it is my understanding that IRL, the Rays are still on the hook for the Wander Franco contract. I was doing a sim of the alleged proposed Ohtani to the Rays trade, and I have reached Franco's judgement day (the day he got suspended). I want to:
Any suggestions? My current thoughts would be:
Let me know any thoughts/wisdom/insight!
EDIT: I was not aware that the Rays weren't on the hook for his deal. I'm just gonna use Commissioner mode to give him a career ending flu or something and rename whatever ailment as "p*dophile". Thank you all for your help!
I'll probably end up playing him in center where he is slightly weaker than at short to fit my team's needs, but I figure you all might appreciate such luck for such a fascinating player!
I would like to speak with him I have many things I wish to say
To keep my reasoning as brief as possible, I have made many homebrew changes to a Historic Sim I am currently playing through & I believe these changes would benefit the featured mode if they were implemented to the game at large. Thanks, and let me know!
I know in the real draft, orgs almost always prefer a college junior to a senior but I neglect to look whether or not a player is a junior or senior if I like them for their player profile. Anyone pay college year any mind?
I’ve had a pair of absolutely loaded INT amateur classes. I try to find guys with high work ethic + intelligence who can play somewhere defensively, and I feel the classes are loaded w guys like that. Previously, it’s felt like there will be a guy who projects to be an above average hitter but a poor defender at 2nd and wouldn’t hit enough to play 1st or DH but guys like that feel fewer and farther between. Just an observation on only two classes, but would love to hear others’ experiences!
I want my team jerseys so covered in brand patches they look like Nascars my soul is for sale if the price is a World Series
On the touchscreen that displays music/podcasts, there's a square where one would imagine an album/show cover to go, but the images used are just strange stock images like a Bluetooth logo or a random woman singing. I try to ignore it, but truthfully I'd rather it either not be there at all or display the album cover. Was wondering if anyone had any luck/wisdom working on things such as this.
Anything helps! Thanks!
Hello!
Recent surfaced rumors of the Rays offer for Ohtani during 2023 got me thinking about other trade rumors of his. In a historic 2022 sim as the Padres, I made the trade for Shohei with the Soto package + Jackson Merrill and wrote abt my first season here^ I also write some about my experiences with the Historic Sim feature in general, and hope for others to appreciate my findings! Hope that some of you will check it out :)
So I understand that International Amateurs effectively don't exist in Historic sims, even if you autogen draft classes. Once I cross into 2026 & beyond, will the IAFA classes return like normal or do they remain missing?
Basically just the title, I know irl Shohei can do both but idk if the game allows for it my research & troubleshooting have been inconclusive
Was wondering if anyone had any insight as to why my 2022 draft class in my OOTP27 historic sim seems to be missing notable players both in the "quality of player" sense and in the actual "where is (insert top pick in the real life 2022 draft)" sense. It appears to only have real life international amateurs (which I have seen in previous historic sims and old versions of OOTP) with a very small handful of the real American players (such as Alex McFarlane & Freeland for some reason). Any way to fix this or any insight on what to do next?
