College student: Giving my Dell Inspiron 15 to my sister who doesnt have anything in her country. Is a Chromebook good enough until Black Friday?
None of my family in the Dominican Republic has a laptop or desktop anymore. The last computer they had was the one I left here back in 2007, and it eventually broke. My sister spends 99% of her time watching YouTube on her Switch, which is honestly kind of sad.
I've been going back and forth on giving her my Dell Inspiron 15. I only paid about $600 for it, so it's not like I'm giving away something I can't replace. The only thing making me hesitate is that buying a similar laptop now would cost around $1,000, and I still have online college classes.
On the other hand:
I have the money to replace it,but i just hate buying expensive stuff when it's not on sale.
I rarely visit the Dominican Republic. This is my first trip back in 4 years.
I have a gaming PC at home that I use for almost everything. My laptop is basically only used for online classes through Brightspace and programming classes, but mostly sql work
Writing this kinda helped me out
Anyway I'll just upgrade around Black Friday when laptops that cost 1000 go to 600 again. Right now I just want something that doesnt pass the threshold of "why not just buy a laptop at that point"
What I want to know now is: what should I buy in the meantime?
I'm a college student, and the main thing I use my laptop for is Brightspace, web browsing, Microsoft Office, and a database class this semester, but mostly lightweight sql stuff
I also play a lot of gacha so google play on the go saving my phone life is chill lol
