Bullying behavior between each other

I've noticed there's one particular juvenile magpie that the rest of the group doesn't seem to like. Twice now I've seen that when one of the adults approaches, this little magpie crouches down and sticks its butt up, almost like a cat in heat. Then, almost immediately, the other bird attacks it or chases it off.

I just witnessed it again, and the little bird ended up on its back being attacked by two or three bigger birds. I had a look online, but couldn't really find an answer. Is this territorial behaviour? It almost looked like either a submissive posture or some kind of mating behaviour. Does anyone know what that posture means?

Over 200% fee rise for BVBs

This is wild. What a cash cow. If you can hand out 5 year BVBs then BVAs are essentially not necessary. But why would the government let you travel immediately when they can change you an arm and a leg to go see your family?

Also $2800 more than a year ago for a partner visa. Absolutely insanity!!

Edit - Only looked at new posts and didn't see this isn't actually a new topic in the sub. My sentiments remain

What clothing should I wear while visiting this time of year?

I'll be visiting SA next week for the first time and am hoping to get some ideas of what to pack clothing wise for both city, and camping in winter. My winter currently is frost in the morning, I'm assuming our winters are different.

My boyfriend is South African and he insists that we are going to buy matching...boer wear (sorry, I don't know if that's the right name) farm shirts and shorts. and when I try to look online at what people wear on safaris, all these influences look like they are out to poach a rhino with the shit they are wearing. I don't really want to go in either of those directions, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Not a new idea

How good would the Southern outlet and city be if they put time and effort into our transit system. People could reliably take a bus to and from work in less or the same time it took to drive. Buses went more frequently then once per hour. You didn't have to pay the increasing parking fees. We got vehicles.off the road. You're never going to get higher use rate of the buses suck.

Instead we focus on cable cars and stadiums. Thanks for reading my vent, I haven't had my coffee yet.

Sent from the bus

Renewing a police check

Applied for an 820 14 months ago, so now the police check is expired. Is it worth updating now before I get an ROI? Or just wait? Really hoping for some news before end of September, as I don't want to spend money on another medical

Night Mass

Thoughts on the first night?

Seemed less crowded upstairs than last year, which was appreciated. Art vs Science was awesome!
