people love to selectively pick at naoya’s disposition to extract a trait and use that as a common defining characteristic for the entire clan, what we’re entirely overlooking is how the man despite supposedly encompassing all of the zenin clan’s inner beliefs is disliked by that same clan.

naoya is the only one who has exhibited these traits and his views don’t represent the system, in contrast if we look at ogi and his treatment of maki & mai he takes an issue with their lack of strength, strength is something that’s treasured by the clan and he’s disappointed by how his daughters don’t possess any upholding qualities, he didn’t pre-assume that they would be innately weak because of their sex, they just proved to be weak with time. if women had absolute no standing in the clan his daughters strength wouldn’t have been a decisive factor, even naoya briefly touched on how his daughters lack of talent impeded him.

maki’s mother the submissive and silent woman has a certain presence to others which doesn’t line up with the aforementioned, the notion that she’s at the lowest in the pecking order is challenged by how she’s perceived by others, it isn’t cursed energy because she’s a non-sorcerer, it has to do with her surface level demeanour; someone without a shred of authority or social standing in the clan wouldn’t display the complete opposite.

let’s also not forget how maki intended to become the head of the clan so it was certainly possible for a woman, it was just heavily conditional on her own strengths. for anyone who says “well she didn’t despite coming back stronger” she immediately killed everyone upon awakening and toji who is a man with considerable strength was a bad pick because he can’t fulfil basic jujutsu requirements like exorcising CS, maki is in a similar position where she’s reliant on cursed tools to get the job done.

naoya in his baseline completely unstacked speed managed to make maki cough up some blood.

i can see why gege wrote naoya and his father out of the story so early, their fists gotta be registered as special grade after what they did to the cast.

i know this happened in the anime but didn’t really notice it in the manga, either way a huge upscale. i was planning to make a detailed scale but can’t be bothered motivation aside.

i’ve been brushing up on the early chapters of the manga and noticed how naoya is indirectly mentioned, this heir can’t be anyone but him knowing how the timeline lines up, hilarious to know that maki was canonically walking 3 steps behind him.

i don’t think it’s referring to naobito though as he’s at this point established as the head so the wording wouldn’t make sense, the zenin clan was indeed promised to naoya 3000 years ago.

i’m tired of pretending that VCS naoya isn’t in the top 10, his AP alone is enough to give all the heavy hitters a run for their money.

we saw how naoya was capable of dishing out enough force to completely incapacitate FP maki, mind you she’s established as one of the more durable characters of the verse but that isn’t the interesting part. while naoya was stacking his speed maki transitioned into a special stance to fully guard and brace, we know how decisive factors play a role in how your durability interacts with damage like being on/off-guard or your positioning. conversely, she had external aid through kamo who used his blood manipulation to completely surround and insulate maki omnidirectionally, kamo as a semi-grade 1 minimum stated he would’ve been 1 shot had he not blocked naoya’s blow with his blood, we see how he’s mostly (generous) unscathed after activating his CT last second to lessen the force. so we already have an idea of how big this jump between active BM and no BM is, kamo used what appears to be a more advanced application of his technique to mitigate as much as possible for maki, it’s akin to choso’s supernova but a store bought downgrade, nonetheless SN is capable of killing momentum evidently like how he completely halts and throws naoya off-track. the difference between choso and kamo is significant, as well as base naoya to curseya. i’m simply trying to communicate the point of how BM has the properties to cease speed to a degree.

• so here’s what we’ve established, [1.] maki assumed a defensively oriented stance to ground herself, [2.] kamo’s BM was a life altering factor for him so it’d be substantial for maki even if it wouldn’t be on the same scale, [3.] kamo’s technique possibly hampered down naoya’s speed and resulted in minor to moderate output loss.

even under these conditions naoya managed to lay maki out in a single stacked charge, it makes me wonder what the full magnitude of the impact could’ve been if maki was just caught in its way with no layers of protection. note that naoya measured up to sukuna’s unguarded SECOND black flash with just 1 hit, naoya might as well be immortal since the AP = durability principle exists, when he retracts into his form (which he can do because it isn’t contingent on just speed usage) he’s impenetrable and has insane regenerative capabilities for a CS.

as for anyone trying to downplay naoya’s AP because maki recovered from it, that’s a separate attribute. her healing recovery speed doesn’t diminish the overall damage received, evidently sukuna is taken aback at how fast she bounced back from his black flash. he doesn’t doubt he didn’t do enough but questions how she was capable of coming back after taking such a hit.

people are still out here glazing yuki and using a microscope to search for any feats they can use. she is sluggish in speed, her durability is lackluster and you can’t make the argument that her AP scales to it when it’s explicit that the virtual mass she adds has no affect on her and doesn’t correlate with her durability either, all she has to her name durability wise is nearly getting fried by a mini uzumaki.

yuki is genuinely getting carried by the special grade status which doesn’t hold much merit when yaga falls into that bracket despite being top 30, naoya/naobito would lay her out with 3 full stack punches and that’s me being generous, she is getting blitzed into oblivion while simultaneously getting her CT shutdown by the barrage of strikes she’d receive.

“what about her domain?” she is getting her fingers turned into powder dust and she doesn’t have a seal to bail herself out like dagon did.

VCS naoya would be overkill so i couldn’t bother using him.

some people are genuinely arguing that maki would’ve still won had she not figured out his technique last second. maki initially wanted to brace his impact to slow him down, naoya notes how she’s willing to go to great lengths to ensure he doesn’t maintain his max speed even at the cost of her ribs, narratively it was an all or nothing situation because of how dire it became.

we see the full magnitude of naoya’s AP when he’s up against maki in his cursed form, you might argue that he’s way faster and did more as a result yet maki survived even if barely. the difference is that VCS naoya’s large blunt body distributes the force more evenly hence why it primarily did internal damage, meanwhile human naoya balled up all his kinetic energy into his fist and was going to deliver a more concentrated blow on a singular point instead of across her whole body to effectively pierce and go through her like a big ass bullet.

we already saw how naoya with his base speed and few hits managed to cause external damage, more than VCS naoya.

could he potentially be faster with his body now being back to normal? picture a juiced up naobito, that’s VCS evolved naoya. i’m not even sure if the binding vow still applies considering his physiology is entirely different, but maybe he still retains his top speed due to better reinforcement for durability. unlocking a domain helps you understand the fundamentals of jujutsu better after all.

ogi thinks the only reason he wasn’t elected as clan head was because of the quality of his children, his timeline doesn’t add up with what we know. maki/mai are almost 17 and naobito became the clan head long before that, hell even naoya was promised to be the head at the ripe age of 8 so the reason couldn’t have been his bum offsprings. this dude got cut out of the deal TWICE, over the span of 2 generations and then he thinks having kids later on in life will save him and when it doesn’t he blames them for naobito becoming the head decades prior to their existence.

for some reason people have the impression that womb or human naoya have better acceleration, we didn’t even see womb naoya stack yet people believe that version alluded to being way slower is of VCS naoya’s level.

VCS naoya was holding off most of his speed and even then he still blitzed kamo, the biggest misconception i see is that he can’t blitz kamo without stacking when that happens 7 pages into their “fight”. cursed womb naoya couldn’t afford nor had room for any errors, notice how quickly he was dealt with? he wasn’t as cocky knowing his INCOMPLETE state.

the speed when activating the technique is stated to be limited by the acceleration of the body, VCS naoya has the perfect body engineered and tailored for his technique. why would there be a specific limitation on him when everything says it’s the opposite?

saying VCS naoya in base is slower than cursed wombya implies that dagon got nerfed as he evolved as well.

let’s do some chain-scaling here with maki as a reference point.

we have a maki who has been in the shinjuku fight for some time, softened up prior and takes a black-flash arguably off-guard. she bounces back within the next chapter and a half, even sukuna is taken back by the fact that she was mostly fine.

maki then takes another black-flash and this time her condition is way worse, she coughs up blood and is taken out of the fight for a while.

now let’s look at fully fledged curse naoya who was fighting maki who hadn’t been in any other fights basically top condition, with his first initial hit he was able to produce results similar to sukuna’s SECOND black flash. it’s also important to account for kamo who used his blood manipulation to soften the blow naoya did and maki was fully prepared in anticipation, 100% on guard so this doesn’t showcase the full scope of his magnitude.

this dude is genuinely among the top 5 in raw AP alone, i’m not arguing that he is sukuna level because this is a nerfed sukuna after all but that still doesn’t detract from the impressive feat.

he honestly looks quite beefy for someone who’s a couple of years away from asking kenjaku a reincarnation tutorial.

and people try to scale him to fully stacked curse naoya when he dosent even hold a candle to unstacked human naoya’s speed lmao.
