Bonding— Dentist ADDED Chips?

I just got bonding on my top four teeth an hour ago. My dentist actually added two tiny chips to the front teeth on purpose as he said it makes the bonding look more natural. We didn’t discuss this beforehand and I am still a little shocked. Is this a common thing to do?
I don’t want fake-looking Hollywood teeth but, at the same time, I just paid a lot of money for my teeth to look as good as possible…which, to me, means no chips 🙈 What do those with more experience in bonding think? Thank you.

Finished. But Not Straight…?

I am done. Getting bottom permanent retainer next week. However, I am disappointed. I had 4 rounds of refinement and there is a particularly stubborn bottom tooth. My dentist has reached the end of his patience with it and said we should end here. I agreed as I am also tired after two years and 4 rounds of refinements to try to address it.

I paid £5K for full treatment. The idea being that they see it through to the end. This just isn’t the end result I was hoping for.

What would you do in my situation? Thanks.

Tickets for Empire Live at Southbank?

Hello, my daughter (aged 8) listens to Empire every day and would LOVE to go on 5th September. I’m eager to get tickets but it’s sold out. Does anyone have two tickets they would be willing to sell?

Thank you so much

Sell BTL or ride it out?

Advice needed, please. I (F42) bought a 2-bed BTL in a SE town in 2022 for £230K. £180k downpayment,
£50K mortgage that’s £125 per month. I rent it to a friend’s parent for £950, lower than average for the area. After tax and mortgage, I have an income of £500.

The flat was an emotional purchase after losing property in my divorce and wanting something for my child to inherit. I of course wish I had invested my £180K instead. I tried to sell the flat for £220K this year but barely had any viewings so I took it off the market. Given that I don’t need to sell, I am planning to keep getting the £500 a month (which I invest) and wait for however many years it takes to sell again for the price I bought it for and recoup as much of the downpayment I put in as I can.

What is the smarter financial decision? Keep getting £500 a month, hope there’s no huge expense, and hope for a better market in 7-10 years. Or sell for WAY less, maybe walk away with £100K instead and invest that ASAP?

Any advice much appreciated. What would you do in this situation?

Weird Red Spot

  1. This red spot appeared 2 months ago and definitely seems to be permanent. Any ideas what it can be and how to get rid of it? Thank you!

43F. £180K in SIPP. £100K in ISA. Self-employed, 40% tax payer. I should be able to save £40K of my income this tax year. I was planning to put £20K aside for the ISA and £20K for the SIPP. But is it financially better to put it all in the pension for the tax relief? Any help to understand the math and smartest decision would be fantastic. Thank you!
