Any hope coming back from this?

We did a deep clean outside today and the temperature is around 87. The base was only outside for about 10 minutes and when we put it together it just won't turn on. Literally the only thing we can think of is that it overheated in those 10 minutes. It was working fine this morning. We're out of warranty. Any advice?

This is your sign to sleep train (if you've been considering it)

This is for parents who are considering sleep training or currently in the Ferber/CIO trenches.

A positive tale:

Our daughter has always been a good sleeper. We did some mild ferbering when she was about 4 months old and she slept in her own crib and room with usually two wakes a night. Then we took an international trip when she was 9 months and everything fell apart. She wouldn't drink a bottle before bed, wouldn't go down unless she fell asleep in our arms, would constantly have false starts. I was super hesitant about sleep training again because she's so much older and it feels more personal (heartbreaking) when she's crying.

We decided that my wife would try CIO while I was on a work trip (ferber didn't work anymore because going in just made baby more upset). The first night was brutal. 20 minutes of crying before she fell asleep. My wife made sure to sing to her, tell her how safe and loved she was before putting her down and still, it was HARD. But the next night took her 9 minutes and the following night 3 minutes. It's been two weeks since then and she now not only goes down fully awake without crying, but she sleeps through the night!! There have been two bad nights when she's woken up and needed soothing, which we're happy to do, but she seems fully ready to put herself back to sleep on her own. We're in heaven.

Anyway, this the post that I needed when I was agonizing over whether to sleep train at 10 months. I hope our positive experience helps someone else!
