Anyone from Karnataka joining or who has joined FRC? Looking to connect.

Hi everyone!

Is anyone here from Karnataka who is joining FRC 14 or has already completed/been a part of FRC?

I'm planning to join the batch starting on 5th July and have a few doubts about the process, and what to expect. It would be really helpful to connect with someone from Karnataka who's been through it.

Please comment below or DM me if you're willing to help.

Thank you!

Is it actually possible to study lectures, notes, PDFs and standard books for every subject in UPSC prep?

I’m from an engineering background, so for subjects like Polity, Economy, Geography etc., I genuinely needed lectures to understand concepts properly.

But I’m confused and honestly overwhelmed now.

For one subject itself, people suggest:

  • watching lectures
  • making notes
  • revising notes
  • reading faculty PDFs
  • reading standard books
  • revising again

And this is for every GS subject + optional + current affairs.

I gave my first attempt this year after studying seriously for around 6–7 months, and even lectures + notes + one revision took me months.

So I genuinely want to ask :
Do people actually study all these sources for every subject in such limited time? Or is the preparation process supposed to be more selective than this?

Would really appreciate realistic guidance because right now everything feels impossible to finish properly.

What should i do?

I’m 23F. I did engineering, got a job, completed the internship and left because I couldn’t see myself doing a 9–5 long term.

For the last 6 months I’ve been preparing for UPSC 2026. Watching topper videos made me feel like I could crack it in the first attempt 😭. I’ve completed almost all subjects once, but honestly I don’t remember much right now and revision is a mess.

I’ll still be giving the exam this year.

Now I’m confused whether I should also prepare for RBI Grade B or if that’ll just divide my focus and waste time. A part of me wants to give everything to UPSC, especially for my second attempt if needed. But another part of me keeps thinking… what if UPSC doesn’t work out?

Did anyone else feel this confused ? How did you balance backup plans without losing focus?or should i just focus on upsc for 1 more year?
