Hello guys I’m a welder (stick,tig) and today at work i had to do a cut on the field with oxy cutting.. I acted confident like i could do it since I’m pretty informed, I watched video on YouTube on the settings and also used it already sometimes in welding school to do bevels ( not perfect cuts but acceptable).
I would say the steel was 15 mm.
I started cutting and everything went smooth until I had to stop cause they wanted to give me a welding blanket.
When I tried to restart I don’t remember if I touched the metal or something but it started popping.. after that I tried to cut but It was turning off by himself and keeping popping.
I tried to clean the tip with a steel brush and also to restart it other times and as soon as I was regulating oxygen to get the small blue flames it was popping and turning off.
After I had to stop cause it was end of shift.
I really feel uncomfortable doing it and everyone expect me to know how to do it like no nice people around to show me.. I guess if I admit I’m green with it they’ll send me home.
Everytime we have to use it I feel like an impostor syndrome.. I’m always in first line if we gotta weld but always trying to avoid the oxy cutting.
I’ll try to do a 1 day course as soon as possible.
Any advice for the popping?
And also any advice how to set the gas regulators, the numbers are in Kpa not psi.

Really need your help

Hello i’d like to receive an advice about my situation.
Me(22m) and my girlfriend(26f) are in a ldr together.. i currently live in Australia and she lives in Philippines.
Basically in Australia I’m living day by day, i don’t have a house, i’m on a temporary visa and I’m trying to make as much money as I can while I’m here cause I don’t take for granted to have the opportunity to stay here long term and also i don’t know if that is what I really want since I’m very young.
The job I’m doing atm is FIFO in Iron mines, fly in fly out, that means I get a flight to go to work i do my job(welder) and i fly back to my city on the last day of work.
This job really pays a lot of money but is unstable, like you keep have to chase work and you don’t really know when you are gonna have some time off or when you are gonna work, you can have your schedule for the next 30 days but not for the next months.
Is been 3 months that me and my girlfriend don’t see each other and I told her that we are gonna see each other around the end of September or October and to be patient with me because of my situation.
We were planning about a 2 weeks trip in Indonesia.
Yesterday I was having a look at my schedule and I saw that we could probably go from 17 of September to 2 of October cause I don’t have a job allocated there atm and it’s also around the date that we were talking about in the last weeks..
so during my break at work I decided to put myself on leave on those dates and I sent her the screenshot thinking she was gonna be happy.
Turns out she is very disappointed with me cause I didn’t planned it with her first.. she texts me that I’m so self centered and all I think about is myself and she is like a dog waiting for me to confirm her out dates.
I didn’t thought it in my mind like that honestly.
Just for context she is working for her sister so she can have a leave when she wants and she is living in the house of her family, a really stable situation so since we were talking about this period and I was a bit impulsive I just decided to take my days off without discussing with her and I told her just after.
I realise that this is wrong cause maybe she could have some economical urges that she didn’t have told me, and I should have told her first I can pay for your flight which I really would be happy to do.
What do you think about her reaction.
Just another important detail.
Straight after I sent her the dates she told me no, and I was a bit angry about this cause we been talking about end of September and she never said nothing about that.. and in the moment I take my decision she wants to go in the end of October so we had a bit of a discussion that maybe could have offended her, cause I was not putting myself into her situation.. after that we all got back to work and we texted again in the late afternoon where the situation escalated cause she probably thought about my actions during all her afternoon.
Now she is very disappointed and saying she doesn’t wants to see me anymore.
What do you think guys about the situation?
Cause this post is making me think how our relationship can survive in a situation like that.

TL;DR: I planned a trip to see my long-distance girlfriend without discussing the dates with her first. She felt ignored and disappointed, especially because our schedules and finances are complicated. We argued, and now she says she doesn’t want to see me anymore.

Hello everyone.. I’m writing here cause I need advice.
I’m a welder with 5 months of experience, I weld stick, mig, fcaw
I started at this job 4 days ago and for the first 2 days it was very good.. site welding with 7016 on beams, I did some overhead and vertical and everything was all good.
Suddenly my boss on the third day asks me to go to another city(5hrs driving) to do a very easy job for some days.
I said ok, because I was sure he wouldn’t send someone that he doesn’t know If the job is complicated and he also said multiple times “very easy stuff”.
Turns out is a big construction project where they are building a hospital, I have to fabricate and fit up stuff together, cutting properly stuff that is already in place .. the risk to make a big mistake is very high.
I’m basically not capable of doing this job, idk where to start, I never fabricated before and people is putting me pressure when I start a job asking me when is gonna finish cause they are gonna shut off the power at 3pm etc etc ..
Other than that English is not even my first language and I’m ALONE, there is no welder up here, today they have me a guy to help me who is a painter and has 0 knowledge.
I’m confident enough about my welding skills but I always welded things already fitted together, I don’t know how to take proper measurements and cut perfectly.
The supervisor of the site really understands my situation and he’s trying to help me but i don’t really know what to do.
Boss called me during the day and told me to just do the job.

What should I do?
Today is the first day on this site and I’m so fucking stressed!

Hello guys..

I’m dating this girl since almost 4 months, everything is good, she is amazing and we’ll get along with each other very well.

I’m a 22M (she is 26F) and this is my first experience with a girl, I don’t consider myself shy but I never had an intimate relation with a girl before.. this during the last years gave me a lot of insecurities and I was constantly thinking I’ll never find a girl (even if I’m a pretty good looking guy and in shape cause I workout very often).

Now comes the problem.. it’s been 4 months together and we sleep together 1 or 2 times a week, a lot of kisses a lot of cuddles and she also gives me oral sex almost every time.

What is weird for me is every time I tried to go down on her she stops me (now it’s been 1 month that I’m not trying cause I don’t want her to feel uncomfortable) like she is not ready yet.

This is slowly making me feel bad cause I already have a lot of insecurities about sex (how to touch a girl properly, how to have sex, will I have a constant erection? Will she like it?) and I feel like the fact that she looks not interested in sex with me make my desire slowly go down (i feel like I’m getting stuck in my comfort zone).. also every time she gives me head I enjoy it a lot and I always finish in her mouth, but after I always think that i should also give pleasure to her.. and I don’t understand why she doesn’t pretend it.

I really don’t understand why she is so keen to give me pleasure but she doesn’t want to receive it back.

I know we have to talk about that even if is gonna be a bit awkward to start the conversation.

Also another thing is she used to have a 2 years relationship ended 1 and half year ago so she is not new to relationship or sex.

I’m looking for some advices from you guys !
