Italy student visa: is a Booking.com hotel reservation with free cancellation accepted as proof of accommodation?
Hi everyone!!
I'm applying for an Italian national student visa from Belarus through the Italian Embassy in Minsk.
For my visa application, I booked temporary accommodation in Cassino through booking com for 20 nights, from September 2 to September 22. The booking confirmation includes my name, the property address, check-in/check-out dates, price, and confirmation number
However, the booking has free cancellation until August 2, and payment is at the property / upon arrival. So it is not prepaid.
My question is: can this type of hotel reservation still be accepted by the Italian embassy as proof of accommodation for a student visa? Or do they usually require a paid booking, rental contract, or a host declaration?
