Can't recall character names, or book art.

Just got general plot lines I can remember

Main character: male or something foreign to this fantasy world ( vague idea with special identity, could be transmigration or reincarnation as a spirit and escaped into the surface)

Love interest: born of the world, knows combat and maybe of high noble standing

He integrates with society and creates a mercenary band that fights and is loyal to him. Fights monsters and humans alike.

Either the world or main villain senses a foreign body and sends a shadow creature to hunt it and appears from deep in the planet.

During a political party, a monster horde attacks so the MC and his men fight back.

Key part I recall is during the combat MC proposes to the love interest and she is aghast at him for planting a death flag and reproaches him saying something like "you better not die"

During the commotion the shadow monster picks up the scent of MC and beelines for him.
