Anyone else at their wits end with the current mower market?

I'm in the market for a new mulching, self propelled mower. I don't need anything super fancy, I just need something that cuts better than my Honda HRN216. I wanted to love the Honda, it was a real splurge for me at the time. I figured it'll be a good mower, it's a Honda right? It runs great, it really does, but it cuts like absolute crap. My lawn is decently thick but not overly so. I mow twice a week on full height and it still can't leave a clean cut. It looks like a blind man with scissors cut it. Yes I've put new mulching blades, the mower just has no lift. I can mow over a leaf and it doesn't even hit the blades.

I've been looking at everything on the market right now and is it just me or is everything avaliable under powered? The few that do have even a little more power don't have great reviews. It seems all the reliable brands don't make push mowers anymore. Everything has a Briggs (or worse) engine.

New bed liner installed and now tailgate ajar warning won't go away.

I recently had a new bed liner installed and it's been a debacle to say the least. I've learned my lesson but in the mean time I need to fix my issue. The liner was put on too thick and now the tailgate tolerances are all messed up. The tailgate ajar warning will not turn off. I took off the rubber bumpers and if I fucking slam it, it won't give me the alert but yeah who wants to do that. So my options are sand down the edges of the bedliner or see if I can adjust the latches. Does anyone know what the adjustment screws on the latches do?
