I wanted to make a quick follow-up post to clear up a misunderstanding from my previous updates on Reddit and Twitter.
As you know, I was incredibly lucky to find the 1-of-1 E3 Spyro statue. In the comments, someone reached out saying they would love to have it. At the time, I didn't realize this person was actually a current Insomniac developer.
First, I want to say that English is not my first language. I am originally from Spain, and in our culture, we tend to be much more direct with our speaking than Americans are. Looking back at my response, I realize it might have come across as a bit antagonistic or rude to native English speakers. That was truly not my intention at all!
I think my intensity came across the wrong way because I am just so deeply passionate about this character. Spyro is from one of my favorite game series of all time, but honestly, I feel like the character has never been the same since Insomniac stopped developing those games. The original trilogy means the world to me, and because of that, I’m fiercely protective of this specific piece of history from that golden era.
I didn't mean any disrespect, especially to someone who works at the studio that literally created the version of Spyro I love so much. I am incredibly grateful for Insomniac's legacy and honored that a developer from the studio even saw my post.
I apologize to the developer and to the community if I came off the wrong way. I was just overwhelmed by the find, highly passionate, and a bit lost in translation. My only goal right now is to properly restore and preserve this amazing piece of history!

Putting the wings on was a bit of a struggle, and honestly, those metal bars seem a little sketchy! But hopefully, this picture cheers you up. He’s just in his temporary storage for now, but this gives you a good idea of the actual size. I actually took the wings back down right after taking this. (By the way, I’m 5ft tall for scale!)

Thank you so much to everyone for all the support. I will be posting more updates after my trip. For now, he will be in my storage while I work on him. We will be moving him to a bigger storage unit soon, but the most important thing is that we got him out! The owner was very grateful for all the effort I put into rescuing him. Again thank you so much for following this journey.

I am also very happy to see people sharing the story about where Spyro was before and who his previous owners were! It's funny because I promised everyone that I would rescue him, I did my best, and here we are.

My team and I are picking him up today at 5 PM! I’ll try to post photos and updates whenever I can, but I’m gonna be super busy driving him across the mountains and getting him settled into my storage. The main thing is, he’s finally getting out of there.

Update 2 and reason of why he is there

Seeing this statue in person is honestly a little terrifying, mostly because of how sketchy the building looks inside. His eyes are actually broken, but we think they’re just clear plastic, so we can replace them. We think he’s made of fiberglass, and he's massive ..around 12 feet long, 5 to 6 feet tall (including the horns), and 3.5 feet wide. The photos definitely make him look smaller than he is, but he’s huge!

Anyway, here’s the good news and the funny story behind it:

The owner is an older guy, probably in his 80s. He bought the building back in 2021, and Spyro was already chilling inside. He had no clue what to do with him, so he just left him there. When we talked this morning, he actually asked if I could take him off his hands and said it’d be a huge favor! The guy had completely forgotten he even owned the building. When I called to make sure I had the right person, I asked, "Do you own the property at this address?" He said yes, so I asked if he knew about the statue inside. He goes, "Oh yeah, that purple lizard thing! He was there when I bought the place."

We agreed to pick him up on Monday after work. There is no way that thing is fitting in a regular pickup truck. Fingers crossed he isn't too heavy!

I wanted to say hi and give everyone an update on the Spyro statue.
Thanks to the info you guys shared, we know this statue was originally at E3 back in 1996. For some reason, it ended up in an arcade in 2018, but it’s been missing since that place closed down. Well, until today! Since the original poster on Instagram wouldn’t share the location, I did some digging of my own and tracked poor Spyro down to Saint Helens, Oregon.
I managed to get the address and I’m actually heading there today—I promise you guys, I’m gonna rescue him. My plan for today is to snap some photos through the window and gauge his size so I can figure out what kind of trailer I’ll need. I’m not sure if his wings are in the room with him, but once I get him out of there, he’s going straight into my personal video game museum at home.
He really deserves a better spot than an empty destroyed room! I’ll post again later this afternoon with some photos and videos (as much as I can see through the glass), so stay tuned for a solid update once I’m on-site.

Also, I noticed his eye is broken, but that doesn’t mean he won't be loved!.
