MSP Redundancy/layoffs

Has anyone here experienced redundancy/layoffs while working for an MSP? What actually happened?

I’ve been reading some posts online about people who were hired by an MSP and then became redundant or were let go before even reaching 6 months with the company. It made me curious about how common this actually is in the MSP industry.

For those who have worked for an MSP, has your position ever been made redundant shortly after joining?

I’d especially like to hear from people working in IT support, service desk, NOC, or other MSP roles.

I’m just trying to understand how redundancy typically happens in MSPs.

IAM Career Progression & Certifications

Hello everyone! For those already working in IAM, could you share your career/salary progression from entry-level to senior roles?

I’d also love to know:

What certifications did you take?

What was your career path into IAM?

Which certifications or skills helped you progress to higher-level roles?

I’m currently trying to pivot into IAM. My background is:

6 years total work experience

3 years as a Customer Service Representative

3 years as a Technical Support Representative

Currently working in Technical Support for POS systems as a Spanish bilingual support

Currently have AZ-900 and MD-102

Currently studying for SC-300 (Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator)

I’m particularly interested in understanding what a realistic salary progression looks like from entry-level IAM roles to mid-level and senior IAM positions.

Any advice from people already working in IAM would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

MD-102 | ESI Discount

Posting this to help others as well. If your company is a partner of Microsoft. Check if you have ESI. In my case, we have and I just booked the MD-102 exam today with a 50 percent discount.

What I did was, I added my work email to my personal MS Learn profile.

After that, I tried booking the exam, that was earlier today. However, the discount did not appear yet.

So I thought it didn't worked and I really have to pay it myself in full. Tried it again just now and boom, the discount was already applied.

God is good!

Finally, I can start being serious preparing for this exam. I booked it last week this month. But I started studying for it since April and I've been slacking off since I haven't booked the exam yet. Now it's time to be serious. Although, I'm already getting 78 percent score in Measure-up.

So, guys. Try it, 50 percent discount is really a big help.

MD-102 exam update

Hello everyone. I'm taking the MD-102 next month and am already scoring 80 percent on MeasureUp. However, the study guide was just updated and the changes will take effect starting July 24th. My question is, how much of the newly added topics should I expect on the exam?
