This company really sucks.
How many Philippine companies are still like this? There’s a Red Warning rainfall, roads are flooded, and instead of prioritizing employee safety, the option is basically emergency leave without pay if you don’t report to the office. So technically, we have no real choice but to go.
WFH isn’t even an option because the entire area is company-owned, and apparently, the nearby establishments that rent from them supposedly “won’t earn” if employees work from home. Like… seriously?
And despite the yearly salary increase, the promised increase doesn’t seem to be properly implemented. Meanwhile, the workload just keeps getting heavier and heavier.
I understand that businesses need to operate, but at what point do companies start considering the people who keep the business running?
Red rainfall warning + no WFH + unpaid emergency leave + unreasonable workload = employee safety apparently comes last.
Curious if other employees in the Philippines are experiencing the same thing, or if this is just a particularly bad company culture.

Recently started in my new job and I’m really thankful. Not only that it’s 2x my prev salary, it’s also a hybrid setup - which is so big for me since all my prev companies required full WOS 🥹

Although the role is “customer support”, our role also touches fixes sa actual platform and backend, as well as AI automation for the product. Planning to target Application Support or Product Support analyst/engineer role next 🤞🏻

Alam niyo ba may isang agent sa isang BPO company na hayok na hayok ma-promote tawagin ko na lang siya sa pangalan na “Gold” (F). Gagawin niya lahat even friends of friends niya babarubalin niya, workmates and all.

Before kasi nung hindi pa siya na ppromote as Senior or whatever you call na ahead sa mga normal processors, sobrang tahimik niya na para bang never mo siyang maaasahan tumulong sa mga ka team niya. Then dumating yung time na yung friends niya na promote as Senior tapos siya hindi grabe yung naging inggit niya that time, umabot sa point na lumayo siya sa friends niya at naghanap ng another circle of friends which is yung kaugali niya ngayon na binabardagol niya din.

Ayun dumating din pala sa point na may nagkagusto sakanya na ka-team niya syempree normal na yun sa isang BPO Company, tawagin natin siya sa pangalang “Diamond” (M). After a few weeks lang nagustuhan niya na din yung guy, syempree gwapo yung guy at angat sa buhay. Nung nalaman niya na angat sa buhay yung guy nag go na agad tong si ate mo gurl, kasi alam niyang aangat din siya sa buhay niya pag naging sila eh.

Umabot ang ilang linggo nagkakamabutihan na sila to the point lagi siya nililibre ni guy ng kung ano ano na gusto niya. Sugar daddy yarn eme. Anyways, eto na nga habang tumatagal lumalabas na yung tunay na ugali ni Gold. Lagi siyang nagpapahatid pauwi ng bahay or pag may pasok siya sa school nagpapahatid siya, not knowing pag hindi siya hinahatid ni Diamond may ibang naghahatid sakanya na guy. Myghaaadd! Typical gold digger.

As I was saying, ganon na nga yung nangyayare pag wala si Diamond or may ibang ganap may ibang naghahatid kay Gold. Hanggang sa nahuhulog na ng tuluyan si Diamond kay Gold ng hindi niya namamalayan na gagamitin lang pala siya for all the things na meron siya.

As time pass by umabot ng birthday, christmas at new year nagbibigay or may binibigay si Diamond kay Gold. Nagkaron ng hindi pagkakaintindihan yung dalawa at umabot sa point na nagkakasiraan na sila, nagmmake ng story si Gold na ginagamit lang daw siya ni Diamond, na hindi naman daw talaga nagpapahatid sa bahay or school sadyang nag iinsist lang daw talaga si Diamond. Wtf! Girl ang bait bait na nga sayo ng tao ganyan pa gagawin mo babaliktarin mo pa yung kwento.

Then eto na nga yung exciting part, lumipas ang ilang buwan at taon na promote na si Gold as Senior. Biglang nag iba yung ugali which is natural na sa mga nappromote or depende pa din siguro HAHAHAHAHAHA. Pero not knowing ang sabi sakanya ng TL niya before kaya di siya napromote “bungisngis ka kasi at walang sariling desisyon”.

Ayun nga after that promotion nagbago ugali naging bossy sa ibang kateam niya pero sa friends niya hindi the typical feeling baddie pero ang baho naman. Ilang months ang nakalipas, up ‘til now mas lumala ugali niya to the point lahat ng pwede niyang iissue sa kateam niya gagawin niya para sa ikakasaya niya. Kahit small details or big gagawan niya ng issue at ipapakalat niya agad sa buong prod.

Even sa mga workloads ng ka-team niya na dapat hindi na siya belong pinapakelaman niya pa din. Then nung na-assign siya to QA the team, kahit sobrang dami ng workloads basta mahanapan niya lang ng mali yung processors gagawin niya ultimo kahit ilang oras siyang maghanap okay lang sakanya. Na parang bang naghahabol sa next promotion para ma-promote bilang ATL, ano para tarantaduhin lahat ng agents na mahahawakan niya pag napromote ulit siya.

Anyways, ayun lang naman yung story ko about that girl na gold digger at hypocrite b*tch hehe. Thank youuu!!

Hello po, as the title suggest. I recently graduated college last June and got a financial account. I would like to ask advice for those people who also have a hard time speaking in English when they are starting their BPO experience. And if you can also lend insights how will I improve my communication skills. hey!!!, after grad mag aaply ako and kasama ko, as a first timer, though madami akong narinig na mga side comments, thoughts, positive and negative feedbacks, and sa sobrang hindi ko na alam kong sino papaniwalaan ko, why not ako mismo ang pumunta para malaman ko talaga, and also maging transparent din, grabeee hirap ng job market ngayon kaya ang plan ko muna ay, while waiting sa mga inapplayan ko for an IT positions lahat ng posting jobs ay may BPO muna ako, to gain some experience, yess, madami nagsabi sakin na mahirap daw doon kesyo toxic etc, pero itry ko lang, if makapasa or if hindi try ko parin sa iba, and goal muna for now is to find a job and makapag ipon muna ng paunti unti, until makahanap ng maayos na job, totoo nga talaga na sa unang journey super hirap

anyways hindi ko naman na balak mag stay for a long time sa BPO (naway palarin), para narin talagang magka experience muna ako, nag uupskill din ako paunti unti, pero focus ko ay networking, btw BSIT Graduate me : )

Hello po everyone, magtatanong lang po sana ako kung ano ang best na gawin sa situation ko.

For context, naka-WFH po ako for several months na. Last night, na-over lunch po ako ng around 30 minutes dahil sa sobrang pagod—nakatulog po ako at hindi narinig yung alarm. Nasa agreement naman po namin na kapag may OB or over lunch, may possibility na maibalik sa onsite, kaya minessage po ako ng TL ko na kailangan ko nang bumalik sa site. Naiintindihan ko naman po since kasalanan ko rin po na hindi ako nagising.

Ang concern ko lang po ngayon is sobrang lala ng baha dito sa amin, hanggang bewang po. Nag-try po akong mag-arrange ng shuttle para makapasok sana, pero nag-message yung driver namin na hindi raw po sila makakapag-shuttle dahil nasiraan yung van. For safety reasons, hindi na rin po nila pinilit bumiyahe.

Sinabi ko naman po agad sa TL ko yung situation at yung tungkol sa shuttle, pero hanggang ngayon wala pa po siyang reply. Hindi rin po possible mag-commute dahil wala nang available na byahe sa ganitong oras, at hindi rin po ako makapag-Maxim dahil hanggang bewang pa rin po yung baha dito.
Ano po kaya ang best na gawin sa ganitong situation? Naiintindihan ko naman po yung decision na ibalik ako onsite dahil sa over lunch, pero currently hindi talaga safe at physically possible para sa akin na makapunta sa site. Any advice po? Thank you!
