I'm planning to buy my first car soon, and my current choices are a used Altis 1.6L, used Mazda 3 1.5L, or a brand new City RS. I'm also wondering if I should consider BYD or a used City RS.

For context, I'm in my mid 20s, WFH, single, and still live with my parents in the province. The car will mostly be used on weekends for errands, occasional gala, and driving to NCR 1-2x a month.

The things I care about most are reliability, comfort, driving experience, and fuel efficiency. If I go to the used route, I'm only considering 2019 and up models since I'd still like something relatively modern.

Ideally, I'd go for the brand new City RS just for the unique excitement and owning a brand new gives you a different kind of high and for me it's also an emotional purchase. I can afford a 50% DP, but I'm naturally very frugal, so spending that much + MA scares me.

That's why I've been looking at used cars as well. They could save me a lot of money, but I'm also worried about ending up with a problematic unit and the process of finding a well maintained car and dealing with the paperwork also feels a bit overwhelming.

Given my situation, which option would you recommend?

One more thing I'm curious about. Why are used Mazda 3s often priced higher than the Altis on FB marketplace? Afaik they're in the same segment, and Toyota is usually known for having high resale value. Yet I'm seeing Mazda 3s of the same model year listed for noticeably higher prices. Is there a reason for that?

I've been browsing fb marketplace and noticed quite a few 2023–2025 model cars being sold with very low mileage.

I'm curious why someone would sell a car that's only a year or two old and barely driven. Are these legit or is this something I should be cautious about?

Just trying to understand if this is a red flag or if it's actually pretty common.
