I am not receiving a lot of my messages, but can send them?! helppp :(

hi there, just switched from an iphone 13 to the fold 8 about a week ago. i just now started having issues where people will be talking in a group message (iphone users) and i wont receive the messages but when i send a message in the chat, everyone receives the message? i missed an entire text conversation today and didn't know until someone directly messaged me about it and i had no clue what they were talking about until they sent me a screenshot of the group chat
there are also one-off instances where i just won't receive a message. for example my sister who has an iphone messaged me and i just never received the text.
things i have tried:
- disabling and then turning RCS chats back on
- clearing google message cache
- turning mobile data off and back on
- made sure the people im texting on iphone have RCS chats enabled
- disabled imessage and facetime on my old iphone and ipad, also made sure all cellular data was turned off
- deregistered my phone number from Apples site (i did this an hour ago so maybe i just have to wait a bit longer)
- tried starting all group messages from MY end and still didnt see anyones responses
- tried uninstalling the google messages latest update
to add some more info.... the messages people send in group chats will send as an imessage and pop up blue instead of green. but then i send a message and it will send as a green RCS chat.
is there anything else i can try??? im desperate lol this is also my first android so i am not too familiar with google messages, any advice helps!
