I know everyone is probably so sick of Valko post but I just find this situation so funny as a black lads player. Since the start of the game, LADs has only had like 4 medium tan to dark skin but when players of color complained, we were told to stop playing if we don't like it. Then theres the lighting issue where darker skinned players couldn't even see their MC during cut scenes. Again, we were told to just stop playing if we're mad and that Infold is a Chinese company that is obviously going to accommodate fair skinned/chinese MCs more.

Now with the Valko situation, those same words are the worst things you can say. Suddenly them being a chinese company isn't a good enough justification for them not wanting to lose money from their main player base. How come players of colors get told to kick rocks but when non players of color are affected, suddenly everyone needs to stop what they're doing to fix the situation. So i'm sorry if i'm lacking sympathy after essentially being told to kick rocks by the same fandom that is begging for a LI that had less than 20 minutes of shown content back.

Hello everyone! I am back with a (hopefully) improved query letter. What I got from my last post was that my characters motivations and circumstance weren't that clear. I now understand that looking back, in my fear of going over the standard WC for query letters, I left stuff out.

Eighteen-year-old Ivelle is one school year away from achieving her wildest dreams: becoming the next Cupid. Residing in The Garden, a floating academy in the sky with a concentration specifically created to replace the current Cupid, Ivelle has worked to be the obvious choice. A feat she wouldn’t have cleared if not for Atlas, her trusted mentor of eleven years. It doesn’t matter that she has to share the first place title with Eirian, the guy she’s tied with every year. 

On track to tie once more, they both get called into the Headmistresses office and are given an ultimatum: decide amongst themselves who becomes the next Cupid or they both must forfeit their positions—sending years of hard work down the drain.

With no choice but to team up, the two come up with a competition consisting of three trials. Their own version of what Eros and Psyche went through. All Ivelle has to do is win two out of three trials. Sounds easy enough. At least until she stubbornly agrees to a popularity vote and the first trial ends in her defeat. Feeling like her dreams are slipping through her fingers, Ivelle starts having doubts as to if Atlas will lead her to victory when his advice becomes more and more intense. Not graduating and claiming her prize isn’t an option even if Ivelle has to end up alone to do it.
