UPDATE: I was able to see me kids again.

I posted last week about my wife filing a protective order. Court was Friday and it was lifted. I had my first visit with them today. It was the first time seeing them in about 3 wks. It was so great just to see them. We watched Totoro, colored, and played foosball for hours. They had a great time too. My heart is full again ♥️♥️♥️

Currently homeless and unable to see my kids

My wife took out a protective order on me, that will certainly be dismissed Friday. She believes that me being trans is harmful to our children, so she beat me to the punch filing for divorce. Because of the protective order I am living in a hotel at least until court. My family is really conservative, so I don't think any family bear my workplace is willing to take me in.

Trans and new to long hair: how do I get my hair to not splay out on the sides?

Even if I straighten it, it won't stay down.

Out for the first time and immediately run into a patient

So for background I'm a therapist. I work with patients of all ages.

Friday I was going to a show where another girl who's helped me through some tough parts of my transition was playing at the show. It's a small little punk house venue so everyone is all up close and personal. This is one of the first times I went out as myself, without wearing baggy clothes to hide my boobs and I had my makeup all done up nice.

Almost as soon as I get there I see the back of my patient's head and immediately recognize this teen girl patient of mine. For the first 2 sets I was able to hide, but when my friend got there and I came out (literally) of hiding, my patient immediately recognized me.

She was pretty cool about it but also quickly asked "why aren't you out?" Lol 🤣

So needles to say it was such an awkward encounter for me, but at least it was a patient who was cool about shit. Next session should work interesting.

Is there ever a chance of me passing?

I still have a little bit of shadow, but am still doing laser. It's been pretty effective so far. I just don't know if I would need FFS. I feel like my upper lip is gigantic

1wk (left) vs almost 16mos of HRT and a lot of laser.

Sometimes it's hard to see a difference in the mirror, but then I see an old pic. It's so nice to have nearly all that hair off my face. I took HRT very slowly. My hormones have only been in the female range more recently.

1 week vs almost 16mos

I took things very slow, so I didn't have my hormones in the female range till about 2mos ago. Now things are really taking off right when I've started getting my face shot with a laser.

The stress of coming out

I came out to my parents and sister at the same time that I also told them about a ton of childhood trauma, and then my wife kicked me out of the house. My problem is that my family, especially my sister, seems to doubt my gender dysphoria and identity as being a part of some underlying mental health condition aside from what I've actually been diagnosed with (ADHD, MDD, GAD). I feel like I have to prove the legitimacy of my dysphoria to her, because she's a good support in so many other ways. I came out to my wife early in our marriage, and I came out to some other friends over the past 2 years, but my family doesn't seem to accept that it's even real, let alone supporting my transition.

Has anyone else experienced this? They don't seem to understand how stressful the whole experience has been, and they want to blame any mood instability they see as being due to something other than that stress.

I'm not even able to live in my own home right now. It's an incredibly stressful experience.

1wk of HRT vs 15mos of HRT

I took things very slowly in my journey, started with E2 mono therapy, added spironolactone after a few months, then finally got my hormones in the female range in Nov '25.

I just had my first laser session on my face last week (I've already gotten it on chest, belly, and arms).

I think transitioning means the end of my marriage

I have been transitioning for 15 months. I took things very slowly, but my wife has opposed me transitioning at every turn. She admits she is no longer attracted to me. I feel like I have compromised so much just to keep things as tolerable for her as I can, but she doesn't seem to understand how hard it is for me to keep on existing this way. We are part of a religious community, and it's going to be really easy for me to be the villain to them. I feel so truly rejected. We've been married for almost 13yrs and have two wonderful children together. She has kicked me out of my house over this. The only person that would take me into their home in our area was a former coworker, not someone in our religious community.

I just feel so truly alone.
