Period Underwear for summer?

Hi all!

I have the Bambody brand period underwear that I bought a few years ago and use in addition to a cup, so not looking for max absorption in period underwear just something comfortable to wear for backup in case of leakage. I want to purchase more period underwear since I only have three pairs, but don’t want to go with Bambody again for replacements because I run warm and I found Bambody made me SO hot, sweaty and gross, looking for something a bit thinner/more breathable material all around. Any recommendations?

Adult LTS at Skating Club of Boston Experience

Hi all! When I was signing up for adult LTS classes at SCOB, I was looking for any posts describing experiences with adult LTS here. Now that my late spring session is almost finished, I figured I’d share my experience for anyone looking into it!

To start on a positive note- the SCOB community and culture is absolutely amazing. It is extremely diverse and inclusive here, everyone who is a “regular” to the Norwood location is SO friendly and helpful to new adult skaters. If you plan on taking classes, attending adult free skate, as well as attending the other adult skater events here, there are so many people who will make you feel included and comfortable on the ice, no matter your skill level.

On a negative note- the adult LTS group classes here imo, are a total bust. To summarize the structure of the lessons, they divide the adult skaters into groups from skill levels 1-5, and then you have your lesson portion in your designated skill area of the rink. The classes are advertised as 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time. My first qualm with the adult group classes, is that they are scheduled to start 10 minutes after the children’s LTS classes end. By the time all the kids are off the ice and the Zamboni makes its rounds, you don’t have access to even get onto the ice until about 2 minutes after the class start time. Usually this is absolutely not a big deal, BUT by the time you meet up with your group, get checked in by the instructor, you spend another few minutes doing that until you get directed on what to start with. When all is said and done, I skate with my instructor for only about 20 minutes, and she also coaches three skill level groups at once, so while she does her best it’s hard to get a ton of one on one help.

The other negative is the lack of space for not only the lessons, but also the practice skate. During lessons the ice is split into four sections lengthwise, so you get a wide, lane-type area to work in. But for my group, it’s three skill levels in one lane, so I’m constantly concerned about bumping into someone, accidentally going past the boundaries into another skill level’s area, and generally trying not to take up space lol. The same separation applies to practice skate, because while you practice, your coaches take on another group, so all the adults of all skill levels are pushed into the end of the rink in a sectioned off area that’s barely a quarter of the rink. I can’t practice because you’re constantly dodging people, trying not to get in the way, I basically just skate in circles aimlessly without doing too much in the last 25 minutes, and even that is challenging to navigate.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the LTS lessons here until you’re a little more advanced and comfortable with having direction for just a short period of time, and prioritize practice time more than anything.
