I don't do laundry unless I have enough laundry to do, so a lot of the time I'm hand washing my period underwear. I kind of find it hilarious, but I started hanging them on my canopy bed railing.

And here's an idea on how to use those pants hangers.

Any recommendations that don't stink?

I use Knix underwear to deal with pelvic floor leakage, so they end up absorbing both urine and menstrual blood. I always rinse them out right after using them, but I only wash them every few days when laundry day rolls around. I just recently found out that I haven't been doing a thorough enough job washing them, and now they are starting to stink even after going through the wash.

They are pretty expensive.Does anyone have recommendations for brands that might be prone to stink, so I don't need to be buying every single brand out there. Thanks!

Easiest way to wash?

I have a bunch of Modibodi panties that I’m trying to get used to for periods but the washing is just so inconvenient

I rinse the blood out after I change a new one and use a detergent to scrub, then rinse and hang to dry. So I’m washing like 4 panties a day at different timings.

Is there another way like collecting it all then dumping in the machine at the end of the period cycle

// edit// thanks for all the ideas 🤣 I will be rinsing> hang to dry > then toss in laundry end of week (I live alone. There’s not much to wash). Honestly so lazy to rinse all the blood out cuz I’m heavy and it takes forever but think it’ll be better than letting it dry and then trying to wash out

Does anyone else wish there was a proper period pad made for thongs?

I know thong liners exist, but they’re only really for spotting or very light days. I mean something that actually worked for a light to moderate period without having to switch to different underwear.

If something like that actually stayed in place, is it something you’d use? Or would you still choose tampons, cups, or period underwear?

The granny pants are killing me…

Period Underwear for summer?

Hi all!

I have the Bambody brand period underwear that I bought a few years ago and use in addition to a cup, so not looking for max absorption in period underwear just something comfortable to wear for backup in case of leakage. I want to purchase more period underwear since I only have three pairs, but don’t want to go with Bambody again for replacements because I run warm and I found Bambody made me SO hot, sweaty and gross, looking for something a bit thinner/more breathable material all around. Any recommendations?

How to deal with discharge

I think i receive a small amount of discharge as I am quite small. I am on period stopping pills and spot for a week every 3-4 months, if that matters. I am tired of my discharge wetting my trousers, I wear jeans I cant be washing them after every wear because my discharge leaked thru my underwear. I do not know what to do, I tried doubling up on underwear and it helped but didnt change a lot. I know discharge is going to happen, I just want a guantee longterm solution to not get anything sinking :( I dont want anything like pads or pantyliners which makes it difficult. I think period pants are my best bet but is it like guanteed it wont leak to my trousers? Is it worth doing period pants + light boxers? Im so lost. I know discharge is natural and happens but I want to guarantee it doesnt get near my trousers

Considering Period Underwear - Heavy Flow

I am sick of pads.

I had an IUD for the past 4.5 years in order to stop my period because it was so heavy and never ended. I got my IUD removed in November of 2025. I finally got my period back on June 19, 2026 and I am now on day 10 of my period. I was happy to see it come back, but I forgot just how much I hate wearing pads. I want to go back to "normal" and be able to just wear underwear.

I currently have to wear two nighttime pads (I wear the Always Maxi Size 5 Extra Heavy Overnight Pads with Wings) and change them out every 3-4 hours due to my heavy flow. I also struggle with clotting.

I have looked into period underwear, but I just don't know what I can trust and what I can't.

Any insight is much appreciated.

Period underwear leaking from the sides?

I recently bought period underwear since my friend recommended it to me but it wont stop leaking from the sides, the only way I managed to stop it is to put a pad on which seems kind of counter intuitive. does anyone have any advice?

Where on earth do I find the comfy underwear of my dreams?

I need help finding the crem-de-la-crem of underwear.

I have tried a lot... and am still struggling.

Must be accessible to Australia.

My criteria 》

  1. Comfort: Leg/ butt/ groin seam always leaving a mark. Too thin/ sharp/ edgy. Needs a softer/ thicker leg seam.

  2. Pattern/style: Never low-cut enough on the leg, or high-cut enough on the waist. Most styles don't fully cover my large butt. Boyleg cuts are never high-waisted enough and don't cover me fully: and high-waisted/ full coverage cuts are never low enough on the legs. I always get wedgies.

  3. Material type: I won't wear polyester. Can have a small percentage of elastane, but it needs to be mostly cotton... where's the transparent companies about chemicals used in fabric making and dyes? I'd prefer it to be eco-friendly. Preferably durable quality, too.

NO crazy colours, patterns, or lace.

Cost is a consideration. Preferably more a low to mid range investment.. although I would invest more highly if I found a quality product.

Thanks so much! ♡

Finding a specific brand

This may be a long shot. I bought these awhile ago and either removed the tag immediately or they never had one. Any chance someone in here recognizes the brand based on the waistband?

New to Period Underwear/Cloth Pads. Thoughts/Opinions??

Hi! I've been looking into switching from pads to period underwear or cloth pads but I don't really know a whole lot about either one. I mainly want to avoid the cold wet feeling that I know comes with using these products. I'd love to hear any thoughts or opinions on what brands and materials I should be looking at. For context, my period is usually 4 days long with a moderate flow on days 2 and 3. It's not super heavy by any means.

Brands I've been looking into: Modibodi, saalt, Knix, Thinx

Any thoughts and comments are appreciated. I'd love to know what it's like using these types of products as opposed to disposable ones.

THEY WONT DRY.

I LOVE my new period underwear but dear GOD nothing I am doing will get them to dry all the way. Air drying takes 24hrs+. I’m not even kidding I just had to restart my dryer for the 3rd time because they are still damp.

I’m about to cry what am I doing wrong

I’m disappointed Knix doesn’t listen to their customers

I have a few pair of Knix that have band to band coverage. However, they’re rated as heavy flow which is overkill for what I use them for (backup to tampons in case I can’t get to a bathroom in time).

So I decided to message Knix and suggested they make a light flow (thinner underwear) that has band to band coverage. They replied with a generic copy and paste that had nothing to do with what I was suggesting.

Boo Knix. 👎🏻 I would buy light flow band to band coverage in a second if they came out with them, and I think a lot of other people would too.

If you could redesign a menstrual pad from scratch, what would you change?

Hi everyone,

I'm researching menstrual products because I'm interested in product design and understanding women's real experiences. Most of what I see from companies focuses on advertising features, but I'd love to hear directly from people who actually use pads.

If you could redesign a menstrual pad from the ground up:

  • What is your biggest frustration with pads?
  • What problem do pads still not solve well?
  • What's one feature you wish existed?
  • Have you ever stopped using pads because of a bad experience? If so, what happened?

Whether your issue is leaking, feeling wet, bunching, irritation, overnight protection, comfort, wings, or anything else, I'd really appreciate hearing about it.

I'm simply trying to learn from real experiences and understand where current products fall short. Thank you to anyone willing to share.

Full Coverage Canadian Brands

Looking for some full front/back coverage for heavy days.

I recently got a Knix 3 pack at Costco and was going to order some full coverage briefs but then started rabbit-holing the company and materials. Now think it’s best to just avoid.

Only absolute: no Amazon

I see Revol recommended on here a lot but the thick waistband is deterring me from ordering. I get very crampy and discomfort is exacerbated by tight waistbands. Is it as thick and tight as it looks?

I appreciate any insight!
