Can Tyler sense Thing?

So we know Tyler had heightened senses based on how he was able to always sense Agnes when she was invisible, and also knew Capri was a werewolf when she approached him in the cemetery.
Do we think he can sense Thing as well? Smell his favorite hand lotion? Does that mean Tyler knew it was Thing who really dropped off the invite to the dance in S1?

When your reading and music align.

I decided to re-read “Book Lovers” having forgotten it takes place in August. And of course I always do a re-listen of Folklore in August too. Saw this background on Pinterest and thought I’d share. Maybe I’ll make it an annual tradition.

I don’t know how people can deny that Wednesday loves Tyler.

Weems literally called Wednesday flat out when she told her, “You have feelings for him. Hate is a feeling, Miss Addams. Along with fear, contempt, concern, and love.”
“All emotions you think can be boxed up and stored in your subconscious.

This was said directly after Wednesday claimed, “I hate Tyler. End of story.”
Meaning that yes she may feel hate towards him for his betrayal, but she subconsciously (also quite consciously as evidenced by her actions the whole season) feels concern and love for him too.

I don’t understand why people only take Wednesday at her words when she’s been proven to be an unreliable narrator.

If Tyler were a vampire…

So I’ve been thinking about this a lot, and have been hung up on it for some time, so figured I’d put it out there.

Do you all think Tyler would be hated less if he was a vampire?

I only ask because I think a lot of us can agree that Tyler is not even the worst antagonist or even villain we’ve seen in shows and movies, yet he is one of the most hated characters I’ve ever come across.

I was a Spike and Buffy shipper wayyyy back in the day so Tyler and Wednesday is not even remotely toxic to me compared to them.

Other examples I always compare Tyler to are, Lestat (Interview with a Vampire) Damon and Klaus (The Vampire Diaries) Dracula, Eric (True Blood) The Lost Boys etc.

And there’s plenty of baddie female vampires too: Salma Hayek in From Dusk til Dawn, Katherine from Vampire Diaries, Drusilla and Darla (Buffy) even Lady Gaga played one in AHS.

And mind you, all of these characters are far older than him and not being controlled, but already know that some people can’t grasp that concept for whatever reason.

Anyway, would love to hear all your thoughts!

Depictions of Enid

Honestly I don’t even know how to title this but I can’t find the thread anymore where a few people were talking about how Enid is depicted as masculine in so many fanarts and fanfics shared by wc’s.

Well, I saw a fanart yesterday that depicted Enid as a trans man. Now I have nothing against trans people, and as a minority where I live, I understand the need for representation in media.
That being said, Enid is clearly not someone who is struggling with her gender identity. She is very girly and feminine and proud of it.

This is not necessarily to vent about Enid being depicted as trans, because the art was actually pretty cool, and good. But it’s more about how those of us who support Weyler or Tyler in general are told we misunderstand the meaning of the show and we mischaracterize the characters. But depicting Enid as masculine and wanting to be a man is a clear mischaracterization of their supposed favorite character, but how do they not see that?

Anyway, sorry if this is just a rant. Needed to get it out of my head.

Question: What was your introduction to Wednesday, the character, not the show?

Hi all, I’m interested to see how everyone was first introduced to the character of Wednesday Addams.

As I read through some of the threads on here I keep seeing comments made about how in the show Wednesday is “mis-characterized” and though everyone is valid in their own opinion, I don’t see many examples provided as to why this is the case.

So it got me thinking is “Wednesday” the show the first time some of these people are being introduced to the character? And have they seen or not seen the movies and shows or comics?

I personally think Morticia is way more mis-characterized than Wednesday, but I also think we see the characters from a Wednesday lens and it’s skewed in her viewpoint.

Anyways, I’d love it if you would take the time to answer how you first got introduced to the character of Wednesday Addams, and why you feel the show mis-characterizes her if you feel that way. TIA!
